25.01.2022 Keeping alpacas in good condition is essential for healthy reproduction as well as minimizing variations in the diameter along the length of the fibre staple. Sudden changes in diet can result in sickness, fetal stress and tender fleece. Seasonal changes in dietary quality and quantity make it essential to monitor your animal’s body condition. Body condition scoring is a way to give a more accurate picture of the animal’s condition to enable ability to optimise nutritional management of each alpaca. Do you know how to BCS? 23.01.2022 NSW Regional Ag Shows to resume in 2021 The NSW Government has announced that Regional Ag Shows held by, or on behalf of, a member of the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW will resume in NSW in early 2021. This exemption does not apply to any agricultural shows held in the Local Government Areas of greater metropolitan Sydney. The NSW Government is working with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW to explore options for the 2021 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Regional communities and show committees can now start planning events scheduled for the new calendar year, with COVID safety conditions. Guidelines and checklists for country shows will be available online at www.nsw.gov.au/COVID-19.
