09.01.2022 Park Ridge Christian College Better late than never. The school was amazing I got to go further into detail about my journey then most times before. The kids had questions about alcohol and drugs. I love it when they are inquisitive. They also asked me about psychosis and I got to share with them about what I believe. I even had one of the boys come up afterwards and truly encourage me it was heartwarming. Truly blessed to do what I do.

08.01.2022 Left: me, completely broken, 93 pounds, living on the streets, living in fear, in pain, addicted to meth and heroin, and ready for my life to finally end. I had... endocarditis twice from using and I had a hole in my heart. My mom took that picture when she went to rescue me. Right: I took this picture tonight. Didn't care about angles. Just wanted to show my happiness. 9 months clean. I fought hard for months in the hospital, survived heart surgery, gained 40 pounds, got a place to live, and I have my family and my two cats that help me. I've posted the before pic alot but my story is important. Recovery is possible and it is worth it. -Amber See more

08.01.2022 We were totally blessed today to be invited once again to the Christmas party at AHEPA The AHEPA family showered us with love and gifts and once again contributed to AAIC’s good work ... Thank you to Robert Raiti for bringing us into this beautiful family who do so much amazing community work yearly . Helen herself provided all the raffle prizes for the fundraiser and together they sold enough tickets to help us educate another 50 youth against the dangers of the drug ic...e and other drugs We are so grateful for their love support and unity Together we can Put The Freeze on Ice in our communities See more

05.01.2022 Volunteering has always been a passion for Brooke. It began in her early years when she started volunteering as a Chairperson of the Youth Group and State Youth Advisory Council at PCYC. For 20 years, Brooke volunteered for several organizations where her skills and expertise were needed and at the same time worked as an employee. She believes that we should do everything that we can to help those who can't necessarily help themselves. However, because of some health issues..., Brooke became unemployed for more than 4 years and just like anyone else, started to question her purpose in life. It is through volunteering that Brooke finally found her happy place and now she is with AAIC as our Education Coordinator. Brooke is a strong supporter of Peer and Lived Experience Education and believes that this is one of the strongest ways to share real-life stories that others can relate to.
