20.01.2022 When you support a small business, you support a mum who worked a nine hour day job, fed her family, put her two and four-year-old to bed, stood in a shipping c...ontainer at 8pm and sorted and checked over 1000 saffron corms, then carefully packaged them up to go to our beautiful customers tomorrow,..... AND WHO LOVES IT!! Thank you for all your support, and for all you crazy people who have jumped on and almost sold us out of corms in the first 24 hours. 19.01.2022 That’s right, we’ve dug up, sorted & cleaned over 2500 beautiful Australian saffron corms this week, & they’re all gone already!! So, we’ve donned the shovel today and pulled up another 1000 for you all, but be quick, that’s the last for 2020!! These lovelies are packaged up beautifully with full growing instructions & make such amazing, unique Christmas gifts!

11.01.2022 If it’s not drought it’s too much rain. We have our work cut out for us the next few days to save what could be a potential disaster for our saffron corms underground. The drawback of having amazing soil is after big rain over the last few weeks, clover and weeds shot up to above our knees in a matter of days & is crowding our saffron. No chemicals to be used, so nothing to do but get on your hands and knees and pull all 1 acre of it out by hand, to expose our saffron to beautiful sunshine and draining soil! Wish our backs and knees luck!!

08.01.2022 We have a little test mound, where we throw broken or very small, or left behind corms from time to time. We rarely show it any maintenance, watering, weeding, we just leave it to do its thing to see what will happen. I just lifted one small shovel of earth, which would have originally had maybe 2 or 3 small or broken corms in it, this is what I got! 29 beautiful corms! As you can see, Saffron corms can range in size from about 5mm, through to 5 to 6 cm. So for those of you waiting to buy some of these beauties, you can see that they can be fairly simple to grow, and they continue to multiply for you year after year!!

01.01.2022 It certainly is sweat season, each year we slap on the deep heat and hand dig up a few thousand saffron corms, then we hand sort, check, and clean each one individually ready for you all. Judging from the list of you all who have registered on our website for first dibs this year, they’ll go fast!! Give us a week or two to keep digging , and they’ll be with you easily in time for Christmas!
