16.01.2022 The start of May in Glen Innes Highlands is a magnificent time to visit! Our seasons are distinct, and in deep Autumn, the colours in our parklands are spectacular, while the granite outcrops over the landscape evocative. At Festival time the theme of Celtic Country comes to the fore, reminding us of the Scottish pastoralist, Cornish miner and other Celtic influences in our town and region's heritage, ever mindful of our place and the land we live on. On the crossroads of the New England and Gwydir Highways, just a few hours drive form the coast and the cities, and high in the New England tablelands, we welcome all visiting for the 2021 Australian Celtic Fringe Festival! If you haven't got your tickets to this year's Concert Sessions it's not too late https://www.australiancelticfestival.com/tickets/

09.01.2022 September 7th is much anticipated, as the 29th anniversary of the raising of the first Australian Standing Stone, the Alexander Stone, is marked: It is named f...or Peter Alexander, who originally conceived of the array as Australia's National Monument to the Celts, then convenor of the Celtic Council of Australia and head the efforts for the array and the selection of Glen Innes as their home. The Alexander Stone is the northern guardian of the entrance to the winter solstice avenue, looking inward to the central Gaelic, Australis and Brythonic Stones, such that the sun's dawn rays travel through the avenue to light up the central array on the shortest day of the year.
