23.01.2022 Community foundations are uniquely placed to bring people, ideas and resources together, these are key ingredients in the recipe for collective impact. "Collective impact is specifically focused on systems change... It acknowledges that large scale social problems are complex... collective impact sharpens a communitys collective vision so previously hidden solutions and resources emerge." We are looking forward to learning and discussing the approaches that Australia's community foundations use to achieve this at the Better Together 2019: National Community Foundations Conference this October.

23.01.2022 Genevieve Timmons is a household name in our sector, having pioneered numerous philanthropic strategies that have shaped the way we work today. Our congratulations go out to Genevieve, a champion of savvy and strategic giving, and deserving winner of The University of Melbourne's Leadership Award as part of the 2020 Arts Alumni Awards. "My first encounters with philanthropy were actually when I was very young, growing up in a family of five kids in a country town where we we...re the beneficiaries of the generosity of other people." 23.01.2022 The Mirboo North & District Community Foundation is helping to build a modern and spacious medical clinic and allied health facility to give the residents of Mirboo North and surrounds continued access to GP bulk billing and health services for decades to come. What's more, doctors and health professionals will not be paying rents to landlords; instead the rent will be paid back into the Community Foundation, benefiting the community in the long run. What a great investment! #communityfoundations #localcommunity #memberspotlight

12.01.2022 In the remote parts of the Northern Territory are the homelands of the Peppimenarti and Nganmarriyanga communities. Food security is paramount in these parts, which are inaccessible for five months every year due to annual flooding. As part of the Strengthening Rural Communities program, FRRR support has helped to enhance the availability of fresh fruit in the region by providing some 200 trees, which will also create welcoming and cool streets for those that call this beautiful but remote part of Australia home. Another wonderful example of community empowerment through community philanthropy. Read the full story here: frrr.org.au/cb_pages/news/SRC_West_Daly.php
