You might remember them from our travel feature and fashion shoot in Australian Country 23.2. Hillbilly Cider are pumping out pizzas and paddles of their wonderful brews (including non-alcoholic ciders and a killer kombucha for the designated drivers) from Thursday to Monda...y. With social distancing rules in place, its a good idea to make a reservation to be assured of a table. Takeaways are also available. Be sure to show your love and support!! #seeaustralia
24.01.2022 A fabulously pink exploration into the home and studio of Australian artist, Kate Owen. Kate, with her paint-splattered apron, admitted she has lost count of how many different careers she’s had. However, their common denominator has always been creative. The artist lives with her husband, Michael, and their teenaged sons, Ben and Sam, on Minnamurra. But the thought of becoming a farmer never entered her mind.... I told Mick as much on one of our first dates, Kate recalls. 03.01.2022 Sam and Emma Rose Munsie combined their Northumberland and Australian heritage to create something unique for their contemporary farmhouse home. The couple’s two worlds collided in 2016, when they married in the UK and 48 Aussies made the trek to see them tie the knot. Interestingly Australian and Northumbrian cultures are quite similar, Emma Rose explains. Country people, wherever they are, speak a common language. When Sam and Emma Rose moved to Fair View after they returned, they inherited a true fixer-upper in the farmhouse, which had started life as a worker’s cottage and been added to through the years. Fortunately, Sam inherited his father’s practical streak and facility for making things and has been able to do a lot of the renovation work himself. Sam also learned a lot from his friend Matthew Bell, who has a construction business in Goondiwindi, Emma Rose says. Out here you have to be resourceful because we’re too far from the city for professional services.
