15.01.2022 Pools and COVID-19. COVID-19 will be killed at the levels of chlorine recommended for use in public swimming pools in Queensland. Thus at Australian Crawl we are vigilant with moniting our water throughout the day. The main concern is the activity out of the water. In accordance with the Commonwealth Government requirments 500 partons are allowd into our facility however only 100 are allowed to be in an enclosed space (indoor pool facility). To combat this we have removed half of our chairs and spread them out, for self isolation.

08.01.2022 As you are all aware Australia is dealing with and outbreak of COVID-19. As operators of a public pool we have certain health regulations that we must follow. Here at Emily Seebohm Aquatic Centre we use chlorine as a primary chemical for disinfection. Chlorine is known for its properties for killing bacteria, germs etc. We are required to keep our pool chemicals at certain levels, and we test our pools 4 times a day to make sure our levels a well maintained. We maintain con...stant vigilance in this area of operation. What we will be doing: - Maintain the highest levels of water. - Maintain our strict testing regime. - Requesting our contracted cleaners to pay extra attention to high touch areas such as handles etc. - Following any recommendations from the Australian Government and Queensland Health Department. - Encouraging staff to maintain high levels of hygiene. - Encouraging staff to not attend if feeling ill. What we are encouraging customers to: - Follow the advice from Australian Government on hygiene. In particular, wash hands properly and regularly. - If at all ill, please dont come to the pool until youre feeling well. Notify our staff if you are needing a make up lesson credit. With regards to those in learn to swim and swimming programs, we intend to keep operating for a number of reasons: - Data about COVID-19 has consistently indicated that it is simply not affecting children and youth. - We strongly believe in all the benefits that learning to swim and our swimming programs offer. - As a father of 6 children I strongly believe in these worrying times that any normality we can keep in our childrens lives will help them through this unprecedented event. Its an incredible opportunity to think of all those around us, and not just ourselves. As a society we will come through this by following the correct guidelines, and it it my wish that at the end of this challenging event we will be a better community for it. Kindest Regards, Australian Crawl
