18.01.2022 At ADC we are getting nostalgic in November as it usually coincides with the much anticipated launch of our annual program. So we have raided the Presidents stash and taken a look back through the archives and the ADC journey over the last 18 years across Australia. How many have you attended? Which ones do you remember most? What are your most memorable moments? From the dairy heartlands of Shepparton, Gippsland and Tassie to the coast at Wollongong, Mudjimba and Busselton... (who could forget cows on the beach!!), and the metropolis centres of Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide and the nation's capital Canberra. Hit us with your favourite ADC events and memories.

14.01.2022 ADC TO ROLL OVER TO FEBRUARY 2022 Australia’s premier dairy forum the Australian Dairy Conference (ADC) has confirmed the next planned gathering of dairy farmers will be rescheduled to February 2022 in Hobart, Tasmania. ADC President and Tasmanian dairy farmer Ben Geard said that given the current COVID climate and the recent escalation of cases across Victoria the annual event would need to be postponed, the first time this has occurred in its 18-year history.... The Board has been adamant all along that we would only proceed if there was absolute confidence that we could deliver ADC in full scale as one of the most notable forums on the dairy calendar, he said. Farmers and networking lie at the heart of our annual gathering and we know how important it is for them to interact and engage with industry members. Whilst unfortunate, the health and safety of Australians and our dairy farming community is the priority and we do not wish to undertake any activities that will compromise or jeopardise this position, said Mr Geard. The Board had been holding out with optimism that things would improve and some normality prevail. However, the most recent circumstances and serious lockdown measures and restrictions has meant that we are quite realistic in that activities will not return to normal resumption for some time, he said. Travel restrictions are obviously the most impacting on the ability to host ADC with approximately 500 farmers converging each February at locations across the country. It is with much reluctance that we reschedule but the only option at this given time. However, despite the current climate, we remain optimistic that things will improve over the course of the next 18 months and we can host Australia’s dairy farming community here in Tasmania with a particular emphasis on bringing our dairy community together, he concluded. In the meantime, our thoughts are with industry members and farmers across the country as we face new challenges and restrictions within the COVID-19 environment. We hope they remain vigilant and safe as we all seek to re-prioritise activities in the coming months. #adc2022 #ausdairyconf #australiandairyconference #ausdairy

09.01.2022 Victorians have been doing it tough the last few months but we hope you enjoy this clip by ABC Melbourne for your Saturday morning featuring our own ADC journo (and Gala Dinner MC with the mostest) and rural reporter Warwick Long. Nice job Warwick and team.
09.01.2022 Today is International Rural Woman Day and what better way to put the spotlight on women in dairy than Victorian dairy farmer (and ADC 2020 presenter) Rachael McGrath. We were fortunate to hear first hand this young lady’s inspiring tale earlier this year as one of many young dairy farmers making their mark on our dairy industry. We would love to hear more tales of young female dairy farmers making a difference in your region as we celebrate women within our industry.
07.01.2022 It's hard to believe it was just over a month ago when we gathered for ADC 2020 Melbourne and we could never imagine how events would unfold over the following weeks. We were fortunate to able to host ADC and bring Australia's dairy industry together to explore, debate and discuss but more importantly come together as an industry. On behalf of the entire ADC team we send our heartfelt support to farmers, the industry, businesses and events with wide-ranging impacts from the... current pandemic. The new operating environment has challenged the way we do things and requires us to be adaptive in the way we approach dairy hygiene, logistics and workforce management. One thing is certain, the current pandemic has put the agricultural sector front and centre in the provision of essential food production. So on this throwback Thursday we hope you enjoy this reflection of ADC 2020 Melbourne with the aim to provide an uplifting moment for you to remember that we are all in this together as we lean on and support each other during this difficult period. We hope you find a smile looking back at these moments and faces. Stay safe. Music credit: Bensound

06.01.2022 WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR? COVID-19 has certainly thrown a curveball and changed the way we operate and approach our dairy businesses. For many the impacts have been challenging, stressful and concerning and we know some people are doing it tough. But amongst the uncertainty, isolation and forced restrictions, the changed environment has also given many a chance to take a breath, step back and provide some extra time to reflect on our own backyards. We have taken this opport...unity to reflect and be grateful for the following: ** Grateful we were able to host ADC 2020 Melbourne in February and bring the dairy industry together. ** Grateful that our industry in a time of need is a provider of nutritious and wholesome dairy products that are considered essential to feed populations. ** Grateful that our farmers and industry are strong, resilient and innovative and able to adapt to changing environments and circumstances. ** Grateful that our farming communities have space to roam... appreciating the little things... sunsets, sunrise, extraordinary animals and family. These are the things top of the list that we are grateful for in these unprecedented times. We would love to know what is top of your list. #adc #ausdairyconf
