22.01.2022 Join the conversation at #ECAWeek2020! Launching on Sunday 18th - 24th October 2020 the inaugural Ethical Clothing Australia Week will make its debut as the first and only week focused on ethically accredited Australian manufacturers and locally-made textiles, clothing and footwear. It will be a chance to celebrate the businesses, designers and importantly the skilled workers behind the garments made in Australia and hear their voice to help illuminate critical issues that affect our local manufacturing community. ADA's commitment to creating actionable change began 20 years ago when we applied for accreditation with ECA. This year marks our 20th anniversary. Learn More: http://ow.ly/Rhgl50BRLrI
20.01.2022 Today is a reminder of the dangers our Police Officers face every day. This morning, two unarmed officers were shot while carrying out a routine traffic stop in Auckland. One critically injured and fighting for his life and the other killed at the scene. Another young off-duty officer was killed while travelling home after work in NSW. He was about to be a first-time dad. Truly devastating news. Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts are with these officers, their families and loved ones.
09.01.2022 Meet the makers at ADA, our fabulous Bendigo team celebrating #ECAWEEK2020. What you see here is a small sample of almost 120 team members involved in manufacturing our local and ethical garments. Ethical Clothing Australia Week encourages people to come together and campaign for a systematic change in the Australian garment industry, and this week we urge you to continue to ask the question who made our clothes. There's never been a more important time to ask those quest...ions and advocate for local makers. We can’t wait to share more stories of our team members with you in the coming weeks. Stay tuned. #localmanufacturing #ethical #local #design #localjobsfirst #locallymade #ethicalclothing #since1912 #manufacturing #australianmade #localmanufacturing

07.01.2022 Today was a big day for us at Australian Defence Apparel, and a group of accredited local Victorian businesses including Nobody Denim, @Thread GROUP, Aquaterro, Style Print and Bluegum with Premier Dan Andrews announcing 1.2 million masks for government offices, health centres, pharmacies and general practices will be manufactured locally with the support of the Government. The Government’s decision to support Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) accredited businesses is a moment... of immense pride for us all; especially our tremendous garment workers at ADA Bendigo Factory working towards preparing 70% of the ordered masks to be released as early as next week. 04.01.2022 Last month our Bendigo factory floor transformed in response to COVID-19 and our teams kicked off manufacturing and assembling reusable face masks. We had a unique ability to do something to support our community and our Design, Manufacturing, and Research teams took it to another level with their ability to adapt and pitch in at a crucial time. We thank them for their continued efforts. The Government ordered masks will be distributed to health centres, pharmacies and genera...l practices, as well as disability service providers, home and community care services and mental health services. The ability of Victorian manufacturers to adapt and produce the goods that we need in a pandemic has been remarkable. These companies are at the forefront of those efforts. - Martin Pakula, Minister for Industry Support and Recovery. Learn more: https://bit.ly/2IeZdLY #covid #health #manufacturing #facemasks #local
