24.01.2022 Let’s play a quick game of follow the donation - The Morrison Government wants to abolish the current obligation on banks to ensure people don’t borrow more money than they can afford. The banks are all for this and, what d’you know

24.01.2022 Well they said it not us. The Nats will always sell out the people of rural and regional Australia to please the Liberal party. It's a pathetic coalition based only getting elected not on policy, principle or improving the country. We need independent political parties.

23.01.2022 "Taking a quick look at the date’s history, you find that it really is just that; quick. It has only been a public holiday since 1994, the year before the High Court overturned the doctrine of Terra Nullius. Before 1994, Australia Day was held on the Monday closest to January 26 because if there’s one thing Australians love, it’s an excuse for a long weekend." - Bianca from the Young Democrats reflects on how Australia Day is one of many issues the government is out of touch on.

19.01.2022 A party that can't govern itself, isn't ready to govern the country. No wonder everyday Australians aren't getting involved in politics... We want to change our political culture to promote people over parties. Our members are empowered to contribute to the party as an individual instead of being pawns in factional power games. If you want to join a party that is more interested in progress than power; join the Australian Democrats now... -> https://www.democrats.org.au/membership/ See more

19.01.2022 Is now the time to talk about climate change or...

13.01.2022 BREAKING: The government set to provide private jets for any Job seekers who need to get a job interview! The Liberals love calling themselves the 'party of lower tax' yet are more than happy to go waste our tax dollars as soon as they get their hands on it. While Natasha Stott Despoja was landing a role at the UN from her home in Adelaide; Mathias Cormann was landing in Europe to campaign for his retirement gig. Pathetic. ... This isn't new. In 2018, Cormann booked a $37,000 solo flight to sell the Government's business tax cuts. Our leaders act like an entitled schoolie gallivanting around the world on Mummy and Daddy's pocket money.

12.01.2022 Australia’s current energy plan is the equivalent of investing in a Blockbuster in 2020. We have cheap, sustainable and emission free energy sources waiting to be tapped..... and it’s no gas! Our nation needs an energy plan that is focussed on the opportunity of renewables: https://www.democrats.org.au/policy/energy/

12.01.2022 We must support First Nations Australians to have their voice heard in Parliament in a way that is representative not only of each Indigenous man, woman and child but also of the country that we stand on. This land is one that we are proud and grateful to call home, but the traditional custodians of this country must never be forgotten.

12.01.2022 We need you to get off the sidelines and into the action. Parliament needs the Democrats back to improve integrity and hold the pollies to account. If you are sick of politics as usual join us now at: https://www.democrats.org.au/membership/

10.01.2022 Want better health or education in your community? It's easy! Simply lobby your local schools and health centres to make huge donations to the major parties. Recommended amount below:

09.01.2022 The Democrats' new sustainable agriculture plan is focused on working with farmers, scientists, people in rural communities and consumers towards a long term future for agriculture. Check out our sustainable agriculture plan here: https://www.democrats.org.au/our-sustainable-agriculture-p/

08.01.2022 Water management has been a mess under both State and Federal, Labor and Coalition governments. The Democrat’s sustainable agriculture plan puts community, environment and sustainability ahead of corporate interests. View our full plan here: https://www.democrats.org.au/our-sustainable-agriculture-p/

06.01.2022 Our higher education system needs some re-imagining to meet the diverse needs of contemporary learners. But while innovation is required to deliver high quality service, listening to and working with students, educators and support staff is integral to creating sustainable and sensible change. Read our full education policy here: https://www.democrats.org.au/policy/education/

06.01.2022 All marketing, no substance. Did somebody say virtue signalling? We have a government that only knows how to campaign, not how to govern. Let's leave the daggy Dads in insurance ads and vote for leaders who aren't so obsessed with image.

05.01.2022 Research suggests that Australians love when politicians obsess over party power games instead of governing. Especially in a time of crisis....

04.01.2022 We have the resources to fix homelessness, yet as a society we are choosing not to. Governments around Australia could solve homelessness, and temporarily did in some cases throughout lockdowns. But due to stubborn ideology and blunt neglect, thousands of Australians are suffering unnecessarily.

03.01.2022 From the youngest woman to ever sit in parliament to the UN. Natasha Stott Despoja is a true inspiration to and a remarkable campaigner for all Australian, especially for women and young people. Read how our former leader joined the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women live from Adelaide via Zoom!

01.01.2022 It's depressing to think minerals have more of a voice in our democracy than you. If you want a stronger voice in parliament simply donate to either the Coalition or ALP and receive millions (even billions) of government grants, tax breaks and subsidies. Not to mention special legal treatment and access to MPs. OR join us in kicking the bastards, special interests and corruption out of politics here: https://www.democrats.org.au/membership/
