20.01.2022 NSW's only population of Wangarru (Yellow-footed rock-wallabies) are bouncing back after being hit hard by years of drought. A recent survey of the population, ...found on and adjacent to Mutawintji National Park and Mutawintji Nature Reserve, has seen numbers rise from 63 to 75. The recent rainfall in the region is hoped to further increase numbers. The Wangarru is not just ecologically important as the most easterly population of the species, but is also culturally significant to the local Aboriginal community. #NSWParks DPIE/Peter Sherratt
