19.01.2022 Changing habits is not easy and yes it does hurt to get back into exercise but the takeaway tip (pardon the pun) is stop putting rubbish in your mouth and move.

19.01.2022 Did you know scientists recently found exercising three times a week cuts the risk of depression by 16 per cent? Read more about this fascinating study here: http://goo.gl/oZku41

17.01.2022 MOVEMENT MATTERS Recently PTA Global came upon an article titled "Over Rated Exercise and What to do Instead" that insinuated the Machine Seated Row was overra...ted and that people should opt for the DB Prone Row instead. We believe that herein lies one of the biggest dilemmas in our industry - the "what's-the-best-exericse" syndrome. And why so many people choose not to 'exercise' especially at a gym. Without getting into a dissertation (though it is tempting!), the bottom line is the 'best exercise' is the one the client will do consistently! The one that fits the client's desired outcome, level of ability and their preferred STYLE of training. The two exercise depicted in the graphic below are distinctly different in almost every way, much like people are distinctly different. If we were to force many of you to do the Machine exercise you would revolt. Similarly, if we forced many of you to do the DB exercise, many of you (and many non-exercisers) would cringe with anxiety and no one wins. BUT if we ask the right questions and give you a choice, everyone wins. This is the power of PTA Global's Behavior-based Programming. Meet the client where they need to be met and they will meet with you - great business strategy, wouldn't you say? Have a marvelous week everyone and meet someone where they need to be met :D

09.01.2022 3 MEALS OR 6 per day... Which boosts your metabolism the most? You commonly hear that you should eat every 3 hours to keep your metabolism fired up, but is th...is true? In lab tests where individuals have lived in a whole room calorimeter (measures all body energy in & out) for 24 hours & fed the same food & total calories, their 24 hour metabolic rate has been measured as the same, whether they ate 3 big meals or 6 smaller meals. The 3-meal pattern results in a bigger boost in metabolic rate at each of the 3 meals. And the 6 smaller meals result in smaller boosts in metabolic rate, but twice as often... so your metabolic rate ends up the same whether you eat 3 meals or 6. So, don't stress about your metabolic rate dropping off if you haven't eaten for 3 hours!
