18.01.2022 Happy World Hydrogen Day! Each year 8 October is the day organisations and individuals in the hydrogen industry highlight to raise awareness about the advances and opportunities for hydrogen use for cleaner energy. Did you know that hydrogen is one of the most abundant elements on earth and it can be used in the same way as natural gas and can be used in heaters, stove tops, cars and major industry?... Here at AGN, we are already producing renewable hydrogen at Hydrogen Park, South Australia, and blending it into our natural gas network. If you're curious to learn more about Australia's transition to renewable hydrogen visit www.renewable-gas.com.au #hydrogen #renewablegas #renewablehydrogen

18.01.2022 We all like to do our bit for the planet, so you'll be happy to know you can reduce your household carbon emissions - while still enjoying that luxurious hot bath - by switching from appliances running on grid electricity to natural gas. While solar energy is the cleanest energy, it is often not available when you need it, so natural gas is the perfect partner for solar, to provide continuous hot water and heat your home or business. By connecting your home to natural gas you... can lower your carbon emissions - for example in Victoria you can lower emissions by up to 77% compared to electric cooking and hot water appliances. This is because natural gas carbon emissions are much lower than grid electricity from coal fired power stations, which is where 70% of Victoria’s electricity is from. And the good news doesn't stop there, the future is Renewable Hydrogen and our first Hydrogen Park has been blending hydrogen with natural gas for more than 700 South Australian residents since early this year. You can find out more about our plan to transition to 100% renewable hydrogen here: https://www.australiangasnetworks.com.au/renewablegas #naturalgas #longbath #metime

17.01.2022 Our top tips for grilling sausages 1. Use tongs, not forks. You do not want to inadvertently poke the casing and lose the juices. 2. Grill the sausages a minute or two over high heat. This gives them the nice brown colour. 3. After that you need medium heat to slow cook the inside of the sausage. Either reduce the flame to medium or move them over to the unused burner and use the indirect heat. ... 4. Depending on the thickness 10-15 minutes of slow cooking with the lid closed should be ideal. 5. The trick is to wait until the inside temperature of the sausages reaches 75. 6. Remove from the grill and serve #naturalgas #cookingwithgas #bbqsausages Image description: A hand is holding tongs and turning sausages as they are cooking on a gas BBQ

10.01.2022 You might occasionally notice some noise in the media around gas and its future, but what isn't as well known is that the future of gas is to transition away from Natural Gas to Renewable Hydrogen. Here at AGN we are really excited about Renewable Hydrogen - 100% renewable hydrogen in the home would allow our customers to continue to enjoy gas for cooking, heating and hot water (without emissions). In late-2019, all Australian Governments agreed to set a path to build Austr...alia's hydrogen industry through the National Hydrogen Strategy. Under the leadership of Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel, the Strategy recognises hydrogen’s ability to decarbonise gas, power and transport and to underpin a new growth sector, with jobs and wider economic benefits. We have numerous projects in development and our Hydrogen Park SA has been operating and supplying locals with blended gas since earlier this year. Learn more about our SA Hydrogen Park here: https://australiangasnetworks.com.au/hyp-sa Read more: https://www.industry.gov.au//australias-national-hydrogen- #renewablegas #renewablehydrogen #renewableenergy
