Many junior students will make new friends, learn to be more independent, confident and keep discovering their inner strength. We aim to assist all students and prepare them for life by enhancing mental strength for life. 16.01.2022 Improving Life Skills in Goju Ryu Karate www.agkk.com.au 0409 474 494 As soon as a student bows into the dojo, the basic techniques practiced, the stances, kata, kumite, the positive focus on perfecting the small details, the customs all develop essential life skills for students. The Japanese system of etiquette is probably one of the oldest and most complex in the world. There is a prescribed code of manners governing much of what a person does and how it is done. A person...'s manners are seen as a direct reflection of his/her level of education and principles. Our students honour this Japanese system of etiquette and is reflected in their words, actions and whole character our karate family attempts to follow the traditions from our Japanese Masters. Our adult martial art classes are aimed at increasing confidence, flexibility, co-ordination, people skills, self defence, strength, stamina and improved general fitness. Our children's martial art classes are aimed at teaching respect, responsible, legal and safe behaviour, the ability to avoid negative peer pressure and self defence. We instil confidence, dedication and active positive participation in our junior members and stress the importance of education and how to be a leader. In life we all need to keep learning, refining and focusing on the positive which might be improving in day to day living and Karate. Once this is done real learning will take place not only in Karate but also in life. Success is found in the journey not just the end result. Consistent time with steady dedication in training is important. It has always been incredibly humbling and heart-warming when students tell you how much Karate means to them and how it has improved their lives. I feel that most people in our Karate family possess a positive mindset, attitudes and are respectful, courteous and have wonderful behaviour. Meaningful participation of all members of our karate family has all helped to develop this positive culture. New students see and feel this way of life when they enter our Dojo atmosphere that is welcoming, friendly and also conducive for each to become a better person.
