19.01.2022 Wow, what a week of Award Nomination announcements!! Late last week we had the #ScreenMusicAwards and now the AACTAs. Congratulations today to nominees for Best Score in a Feature Film for this year's Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA)s, with AGSC members Nerida Tyson-Chew (H is for Happiness), Amanda Brown (Babyteeth) and Rafael May (I am Woman) - all nominated for their impressive scores alongside Jed Kurzel (The True History of the Kelly Gang) and Craig Armstrong (Dirt Music). Women In Film & Television (WIFT) Australia will be running the RAISING FILMS Australia’s initiative in December 2020 for not just Western Sydney film practitioners but those anywhere in Sydney, and in 2021 for those in regional NSW. This includes SCREEN COMPOSERS! It's a FREE two-day workshop with follow-up mentorship, for parents and carers in the screen industry whose careers have been impacted due to parenting and caring resp...onsibilities. The program will be delivered in partnership with Information Cultural Exchange (I.C.E), Screenworks and Creative Plus Business, supported by Screen NSW and City of Sydney. 02.01.2022 We are SO looking forward to this session as part of the Asian Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) this month! Composer Sneha Khanwalkar in a masterclass on composing, moderated by the AGSC's Me-Lee Hay. It's a free online event but there are also some physical tickets available for those lucky enough to be in QLD or cross the border! Tuesday 24 November at 7pm AEST, which is 6pm in QLD and various other times across this vast country of ours. :)
