22.01.2022 It’s 3 years to the day that hemp was legalised for use in food and drink in Australia and HG HempGin was the first gin in Australia to use hemp as a key botanical. I have a background in food innovation and product development and I was aware of this legislation change well in advance. I was keen to bring this super crop to the forefront of everyone’s thinking. As you may know this little business of mine developed from my university studies. Tasked with developing a busines...s model on paper, I decided to build my business on a couple of passions - Hemp, for its renowned health and environmental qualities and gin.... because I love to drink . Soon I was hooked and the paper exercise became a living and breathing business built from the ground with passion and determination to develop and deliver a truly unique gin. I have entered an industry full of passionate and supportive people and found the hospitality industry to be full of wonderful characters.
