22.01.2022 What an amazing shot by Lanky Creek Highland Cattle!

22.01.2022 Meet our members Saturday; Craggy Island Highland Cattle Fold is run by Craig McSwain and Alison Scott on their 100 acre family property located in Southern Tasmania. Craig is also the Tasmanian State Representative of the AHCS and has been a great mentor to our Tassie breeders for quite some time now!

21.01.2022 A quick message from our incoming NSW State Representatives... Please pm us if you need your state reps details to get in touch or visit our website for their contact info! https://www.australianhighlandcattle.org/council-officers.h... Hello NSW Highland Breeders. Renee and I wanted to drop a quick post to introduce ourselves to everyone. Renee is starting with Highlands, but has been working in the cattle industry for much of her life. She has a passion for the breed and will talk to anyone who is interested in Highland Cattle. Renee has a keen ear for any information that can help her or other breeders. As for myself I have always had a soft spot for Highlands and showed them as a kid at school. Through life and work I never managed to start a fold until a few years ago and have been loving it ever since. I am keen to help in anyway I can with both new and established members. Moving forward we are keen to see the NSW Highland Breeders group be an active and engaging group. I hope to call members over the next few weeks to touch base and see if there is anything that myself or Renee can help with. And please do not hesitate to call out should you need anything. Kind regards Drew Rawlings Renee Worthington

Thanks for your hard work guys, keep it up! https://www.farmweekly.com.au//highland-breed-holds-up-re/

12.01.2022 Flashback to the Victorian Highland Breeders Group 's Annual Highland Winter Feast last year with Celebrity Chef Adrian Richardson at the helm. Unfortunately this year's feast had to be postponed, which just means next year's is going to be even bigger and better!

11.01.2022 With the popularity of Highlands on the rise, record breaking prices are being achieved in Australia as well as all over the world. This Scottish bull is just another example of how how valuable our breed is becoming! https://www.thescottishfarmer.co.uk//18716989.mottistone/

06.01.2022 In case you wondered why Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II only ever eats Highland beef... cause they say if you haven’t tried highland beef, you really never tri...ed proper beef! These are from one of our 4yo Highland steers, raised on pasture, never eaten anything but grass and look at the marbling! Who’s ever said grain-fed is best!? @spmckay1975 #knowwhereyourmeatcomesfrom #gippslandproduce #theresbeefandthentheressteak @ Yatarna Farmstead See more

05.01.2022 Meet another of our members and passionate breeders; High Country Highland Cattle was established in 2008 after it's owners acquired a 110 acre farm in the valleys of the High Country of the Milawa gourmet region. With the property being exceptionally wet in winter, they went on a search for a breed of cattle that could handle the damp conditions. The rest is history..

01.01.2022 Another example of what great a job our members are doing all over the country, meet Carlton and Sarah of Rivertree Farms; "Someone once said that every animal needs a good life, a good death, a good butcher and a good chef. Rivertree Farm was born out of a love of food - spending time with friends over a long lunch on our verandah is time well spent! The desire to eat healthy food that is connected to it’s environment led us to purchase our first four cattle, the beginning... of our registered highland cattle fold, Rivertree Highland Cattle. At Rivertree Farm we have an enthusiastic focus on regenerative and sustainable practices as we carry out life on this land. Perennial trees have been planted to provide both edible produce (mulberry, fig, pomegranate, pecan) and shaded corridors for our animals to graze and forage underneath. The farm has been a journey for us. We have had good times, challenging times and celebratory times - we know that we will experience, learn and grow from more of the same in the years ahead. The very best part of it all - without a doubt - has been the campers, visitors, community, family and friends that have been a part of it all. We invite you to be a part of it’s journey too." Welcome to Rivertree Farm! Carlton & Sarah
