25.01.2022 In SA 2017 4,349 abortions were performed. 4,146 was for the Mental health of the woman. 177 for Congenital anomaly. 23 for a Specified medical condition and 3 ...for Pre-existing psychiatric. In 1969 Robin Millhouse, Liberal Attorney General, was the architect of radical abortion-reform laws in South Australia. It became his biggest regret, he said It has become abortion on demand. I did not intend it to be that. The best thing was to leave individual cases to the judgment of the medical professional. Sadly it is the medical professionals that have allowed this to happen and in this Termination of Pregnancy bill it will include health practitioners.
