04.01.2022 What a multi-faceted week it's been for the Institute and our thousands of members across Australia and internationally. We're topping off this week's announcements with our 90th birthday celebrations launch! This November marks the 90th anniversary of the Australian Institute of Architects. Over the last nine decades, the Institute has been the peak body for Australian architects, ensuring that your voices are heard. We have been dedicated to promoting quality and sust...ainable design, recognising excellence within the profession and providing the best networking events and professional development programs for our members. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be looking back on how Australian architecture has shaped our cities and communities, and looking towards the bright future for architects and the built environments throughout Australia and beyond. Alongside our members, we’ll reflect on what we’ve learnt, what we value and what’s to be done from here. We’d love our members to get involved in discussing the people, the places, the exemplar buildings and even the controversies that have shaped the industry, by joining us on the newly launched Community platform. And make sure to keep an eye on this page for news on upcoming events and activities.

02.01.2022 At a small, but very moving, ceremony last Thursday, Traditional Owner @ShannonRuska performed a welcome for the new Queensland Chapter Chapter office. On the traditional lands of the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples, Shannon spoke of the power of storytelling, land and place and community. His message - particularly to the #EmAGN and #SONA practitioners present - was to seek to understand the stories and soul of a place as intrinsic to the design process. We wish all our First Nations members, clients and communities across Queensland the very best for this #2020NAIDOCWeek
