23.01.2022 We are pleased to announce the WINNER of the AILA NSW SHONA WILDE MEMORIAL AWARD 2020 as ANGUS KENCH. Angus is the Vice President, Casualty, Workers Compensation and Crisis Management Claims - Asia Pacific at Liberty Specialty Markets and is also the Immediate Past President of the AILA National Board and a current AILA NSW Committee member. The Award was established in 2019 with the proud support of Hunt & Hunt Lawyers to commemorate the untimely passing of their former pa...rtner Shona Wilde. Shona was a former AILA NSW Committee member and chair of the Branches Education Sub-Committee who had a passion for insurance law and its education. Each year, the AILA NSW President and Immediate Past President identifies a list of Branch Committee and Sub-Committee members who have made a significant contribution to AILA during the previous twelve months in their volunteer capacity. The nominees are then presented to the wider Committee for an anonymous vote. The winner receives $1,000 towards their expenses to attend the AILA National Conference and a trophy. Current NSW Committee President Nicholas Zambetti announced Angus as the winner during the State’s AGM on 17 February 2021 and said Angus is a very deserving winner and is a very active and passionate contributor to the running of AILA NSW and the AILA National Board. Angus was instrumental in helping AILA NSW last year, in particular adapting and delivering on the new webinar model due to the exigencies of Covid-19. Upon receiving the Award from Nicholas, Angus said I am honoured to have received this Award. AILA has been a very powerful education resource for me since I joined the insurance sector and has helped me build many contacts and friendships. As the global insurance industry becomes even more closely connected, it is important to be linked to a global Association where there is an exchange of ideas and opportunities to remain current and often ahead of the curve. AILA’s Award recognising the enormous contribution Shona Wilde made to the Association, shows the value placed on supporting the industry. Congratulations Angus! #AILA
