13.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT - PERTH LOCKDOWN 31 January 2021 Assalamu’Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!... Dear Parents / Guardians of our AIC Perth students, As you are aware, following the WA Premier, Hon Mark McGowan's announcement, the State Government has placed Perth in lockdown from 6pm today for five days at this stage, due to community transmission of coronavirus. I have held an urgent discussion with College Principals and the Association of Independent Schools of WA this afternoon and would like to inform you, that the College will move to online learning. Therefore staff and students are NOT required to come to school. Transition to Online Learning Plan: Monday 1 February 2021 will be a pupil free day to give teachers time to prepare for online learning. Tuesday 2 February 2021 will be an online learning trial. From Wednesday 3 February 2021 online learning will continue until the end of the week. All students will work online through remote delivery or from work-packs provided through Teams and/or Class Dojo. IT department is working to provide school-based emails and Teams accounts to the new students. The new students will be informed through their parents’ email sometime tomorrow. Online Timetable for all students (Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 February 2021): 8.30 am 9.05 am: Period 1 9.05 am 9.40 am: Period 2 9.40 am 10.10 am: RECESS 10.10 am 10.45 am: Period 3 10.45 am 11.20 am: Period 4 11:20 am 11.50 am: PLAY 11.50 pm 12.25 pm: Period 5 12.25 pm 1.00 pm: Period 6 I would like to thank you for your support and resilience during these complex times. As a school, we are fortunate that a lot of preparation occurred in early 2020 to prepare for a possible online learning environment due to the pandemic and are therefore confident that will assist us to again transition to as effective a learning environment as possible for our students. I do appreciate the stress and strain that parents and students will be under due to the uncertainty surrounding the containment of this outbreak. Please be assured the College will do everything it can to evaluate and re-evaluate the learning environment to ensure the best possible education is provided.
