19.01.2022 St. Michael’s Melkite Church is the first Eastern church in Australia and holds a significant place in the migration history of the peoples from the Levant to Australia. To coincide with 130 years since the cornerstone of the church was laid (1891-2021), a display/exhibit is to be created in the Cathedral in light of this commemoration. This is an open invitation for all families and individuals who are willing to provide any information, anecdotes or, more importantly, artefacts (books, sacred vessels, registers, statues, photos etc.) for display. Credit will be supplied to the individual or family who donates or loans their personal history and connection with the church to this initiative. If you can assist, please contact Jack Bettar on [email protected]
