This is a special themed issue containing contributions submitted by workers across the LCA/NZ with their reflections on the question: what will the church look like in a post-COVID-19 world? 10.01.2022 Today the ALC community gathered together in retreat with a particular focus on Isaiah 40:6-8 and reading an entire book of the Bible, the Gospel according to St Matthew. Simple services of psalmody and prayer were interspersed throughout the day. "A voice says, 'Read aloud!'* And I said, 'What shall I read?'* All flesh is grass, and all its constancy like the flower of the field.... Grass withers, flower fades; for the breath of the Lord blows over it. Surely the people are grass! Grass withers, flower fades; but the Word of our God remains forever!" - Isaiah 40:6-8 *Hebrew: = call out, read aloud (Isa 29:11-12) Laura Barry / Unsplash
