25.01.2022 Well, this is good news.

24.01.2022 Nov 5th: 11:30pm: The link to download the November 2020 issue of The tiny Times has been sent to AMEA's digital subscribers. Please check your spam folder if it doesn't appear in your inbox. If you still haven't received anything by midday 6th November, please email [email protected] and I'll try another route! (I'm worried because the emails I sent to myself still haven't got back to me, and it may be because of the BCC email list, or because of a software update I did recently. WHO KNOWS! NOT I!) JH. update: my copy of the email finally made it to me, and it reached at least one other person, so the overwhelming desire to hide in a dark cupboard has subsided. Maybe it will work after all! :-)

24.01.2022 Received from Miniature Enthusiasts of Tasmania: MINI ENTHUSIASTS OF TASMANIA DOLLHOUSE AND MINIATURE SHOW Following the enforced cancellation of our planned Mini show this year, our Committee has been looking at options for our next show, and have decided on a new time (approximately) . The Committee felt that next year is still uncertain for interstate travel, so we have decided to hold our next show, in 2022. Hopefully in October and at the DEC, as our 2018 show. This w...ill depend on availability of course. Traders will all be notified of this plan, and will be contacted when we have the booking in place. Thank you so much to all those traders who were planning to join us this year, we’d love to see you in 2022. Jan McLeod President MET See more

24.01.2022 We are planning on holding the 2020 AGM at Auburn Baptist Church Hall, on Saturday 28th November, starting at 11:30am. The Hall will be open from about 9:30 for setting up and cleaning, and everyone is welcome to come. Distancing requirements mean that we can accommodate about 45 people at the meeting. There are no workshops planned, but we will use the time from 10am to about 2pm for meeting with friends and showing what we've been doing over the last ever-so-many months. Br...ing your own lunch - no shared plates this time. There will be 1 person in the kitchen (Dawn has volunteered) to dispense tea & coffee. If you are thinking of coming, email [email protected], and I can then advise you directly should our plans have to change. Any change will also be reported on this page, and the AMEA website. Please consider nominating for Committee. We need at least 7 people for a full Committee. If we have more, that helps spread the load. All positions will be declared vacant, and nominations will be taken from the floor, or you can send a message that you are willing to be nominated but can't attend, and we will arrange to get a nomination form to you. Here's hoping for a return to something approaching normal. See you then.

23.01.2022 Friends of Linnwood have cancelled their November event, at which we were scheduled to provide a display of miniatures. Next year, maybe???

12.01.2022 AMEA OC2020 CANCELLED Very sorry to let you all know that for a variety for reasons ( not least of which is Covid 19; Aust Post being unable to work to capacity thus the risk of loosing parcels etc); we sadly have to cancel our Online Convention this year. Hopefully by 2022, the world will go back to some sort of normal and we can do a 20’s OC.... I would like to replace the oc with a couple of ‘Mini Make and Chat’ days on facebook later in the year. My idea is to have some free tutorials (please tutors) using items we may have around the house already; some games and puzzles (thanks Deb and Robyn who have offered to run these. Thanks to Jan and I who have offered some prizes for these.); chat, laughs and sharing on tips on making, displaying and enjoying minis. May be one on a Saturday and one on a Sunday perhaps August and October. Please let me know your thoughts and ideas. I hope you have all joined the Miniature Collectors of Australia group on face book this group is holding a mini extravaganza in June I hope you will all be able to participate in this. Best mini wishes Christine

10.01.2022 Sharing a post from 2017 via IGMA's facebook page. In case you missed it. The exquisite miniatures on display would have been wonderful to see in person. https://www.youtube.com/watch

06.01.2022 AMEA Committee has decided to cancel the UFO day at Auburn Baptist Church Hall, on Saturday August 29th, as we none of us know how things will be, but we are not expecting many to want to socialise just yet. But some day, my friends, some day there will be meetings again....

06.01.2022 About 28 years ago, i made this dolls house out of MDF using a jigsaw... It's been in the recipient's family ever since, but it suffered some flood damage recently, so I'm fixing it up...

02.01.2022 Bi-monthly Open Day at Linnwood, Guildford NSW. We had agreed to mount a display of miniatures in one of the rooms at Linnwood, on Sunday November 8th. We are still waiting to hear if the Friends of Linnwood will be holding this event. Their September Open Day has been cancelled, and they will decide closer to the date about November. ... It can't hurt to start thinking about what to display, should it go ahead. We'll post again when we have more definite news, one way or the other. Also, updates can be viewed on their website http://www.linnwood.org.au/open-days-and-public-meetings.php

01.01.2022 The August issue of our Tiny Times magazine will be in the mail this week - delivery times are subject to local delays from The Current Situation (sigh). Notifications for digital subscribers will be sent on Tuesday. We have cancelled the August meeting at Auburn on Saturday 29th. Stay safe everyone, and may small things make you smile. Jen.
