16.01.2022 The Victorian community sector was out in force at today’s Walk Against Family Violence. Eliminating gender-based violence is absolutely everybody’s business. ...But these are some of the people who wake up everyday and do it for a livingintervening directly, providing legal support, finding housing for women, changing attitudes and advocating for systemic change. Thankyou.
16.01.2022 Updated BUSHFIRE AFFECTED AREAS. Locals said new faces give them hope PLEASE VISIT US IN DALMENY, NAROOMA, COBARGO, MALLACOOTA, TILBA AND MORUYA.... The idea is to tell people to come through the towns, support the local businesses and help the community to maintain their jobs. Some of the bushfires affected towns like Dalmeny, Narooma, Cobargo, Tilba, Moruya and Mallacoota have received so many food donations and people aren’t going into shops. Therefore, people now aren’t getting hours where they work because they don’t need them. Furthermore, local businesses are in serious trouble. It’s a ghost town!! No tourists. This is where the local businesses make all their money in this season. So it’s good to encourage people to actually go to affected areas and put money straight back into the community and small businesses. People from Melbourne can help by VISITING the affected towns or by buying a stay for two in one of the towns’ hotel, motel, caravan park or cottages to help the locals survive the crises by promoting tourism (If you can’t take time off work... you might want to auction the getaway at your workplace, among your family/friends, through the social media or simply pay it forward. PLACES TO VISIT (still operational) -The whale motel, narooma -Mountain view farm, tilba -Mystery bay cottages, between tilba and narooma -Amooran Oceanside apartments -Kitchen Boys, Cobargo -Town of Tilba (there’s a whole street of shops here) beautiful street and has so much! Beautiful candle shops, clothing, crystals, wood shops, leather shop, body lotions+soap plus bath bombs FUDGE SHOP, cheese, winery!
