23.01.2022 Throw Back Thursday: 2020 marks 40 years since New Zealand band Split Enz released True Colours. The bands fifth album became their breakthrough recording. The band toured relentlessly in support of the single I Got You and developed a loyal following for their theatrically staged live shows. Drummer Noel Crombies highly inventive costumes, stage props and album artwork proved the perfect visual platform for the band, while the inventive pop and balladry of brothers Tim Finn and Neil Finn ensured that Split Enz would continue to dominate the charts throughout the decade. 22.01.2022 Today marks 20 years since the release of Resin Dogs landmark album, "Grand Theft Audio". In 2000, Resin Dogs signed a deal with Virgin/EMI to distribute their debut album which has since gone on to sell over 25,000 copies. They made regular appearances at music festivals across the country during the early 2000s including Big Day Out where their genre-defying blend of hip hop, jazz, dance and funk made them crowd favourites. . . 20.01.2022 Men At Work had a glorious moment in the sun during the early 1980s with hit singles Who Can It Be Now? and Down Under. Already a certified smash hit in Australia, Men At Work had chart success in New Zealand, Europe, Canada and the United States. In 1981 their album Business As Usual became the longest running No. 1 debut album in American music chart history. Here they are performing in 1983. Ruby Hunter (1955 2010) was a proud Ngarrindjeri/ Kukatha/ Pitjantjatjara woman, born near the Murray River in the Coorong region of South Australia. She was a pioneering singer-songwriter and performer, domestic violence prevention advocate, rehabilitation worker, foster parent, and a nurturing and inspirational figure for many other musicians who followed in her footsteps. 08.01.2022 Singer-songwriter Paul Kelly has been an enduring figure in the Australian music industry. His use of everyday imagery and relatable characters has made his songs an important and much-loved part of Australian music for over 30 years. Harmonicas are a big part of Paul Kellys live performances and feature prominently in songs like Dumb Things (1987) and From Little Things, Big Things Grow (1991).
