10.01.2022 Australian Paper Recovery has been a strong advocate for changing the way recyclables are collected by seperate glass collections and the City of Yarra and Alex Fraser are to be congratulated on the seperate glass collection trial. Australian Paper Recovery have invested significant capital, with the support from Sustainability Victoria to provide a facility that will accept non-glass recyclables and value add to meet the quality demands now in place. The new APR facility at ...Truganina will be commissioned over the next three weeks and it will offer receivals from councils and Comingled collectors providing a seperate glass collection service. A good move forward from all parties involved. #sustainability #quality #paper

09.01.2022 Pyrenees Shire Council is encouraging local residents to remove glass from their recycling and adapt to new recycling requirements from Saturday the 2nd of Nove...mber. Community members can bring their unwanted glass free of charge to six transfer stations and community collection points. The locations include Beaufort Transfer Station (2 Tip Road), Beaufort township (Park Road Serviceway at the RV Dump Point), Avoca Transfer Station (82 Russell Street), the rear of Avoca Town Hall (Barnett Street), Snake Valley Transfer Station (298 Snake Valley-Mortchup Road) and Landsborough Transfer Station (2161 Ararat-St Arnaud Road). Council has stated it will be flexible with drop off locations and will continue to explore other possible drop-off points. Council has produced a new recycling information sticker for the top of recycling bins and residents are asked to leave their bin out until at least 11 am on their usual collection date during the month of November. When depositing glass at a drop off point, residents are urged to take care to avoid potential injuries. Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor Robert Vance said separating glass from recyclables would lower contamination. Glass often breaks and contaminates the other recyclables in the bin. Contamination means small pieces of glass get stuck in paper, cardboard and plastic and they are no longer recyclable. Removing glass from recycling bins will increase the value of our recyclables and ensure they can be processed in Australia. Pyrenees Shire Council's new recycling contractor, Australian Paper Recovery, will only accept seven types of recycling. These include paper, cardboard, steel cans, aluminium cans, plastic milk bottles, plastic soft drink bottles and plastic detergent bottles (shampoo bottles, cleaning product bottles, etc). The removed glass will reportedly be recycled separately. If residents do not receive a sticker on their bin by the end of November, they are encouraged to give Council a call or pop in to their offices at 5 Lawrence Street, Beaufort. What are your thoughts on these new requirements?

07.01.2022 Victoria’s challenging commodities markets has inspired a rethink of traditional processing from commercial and industrial recycler Australian Paper Recovery.

01.01.2022 This passionate crew is gearing up for our Recycling 2.0 ‘Let’s sort it out’ service roll out! These are our proud partners who are as committed as we are to g...reat, local recycling outcomes. The Mayor Cr Colleen Gates and Deputy Mayor Cr Sandra Wilson with staff and representatives from Veolia (our food and garden waste processors), Cleanaway (our collectors), Australian Paper Recovery (our recycling processors) and Alex Fraser (our glass processors). On 1 February, ourRecycling 2.0kerbside waste and recycling service goes live. The new approach will reduce the volume of local waste going to landfill by restreaming our waste into four bins. The new service will separate food waste such as fruits, vegetables, eggshells, bones, rice, pasta, seafood and even food spoiled paper, reducing the volume of waste Hobsons Bay residents send to landfill by at least 20 per cent (approximately 8,000 tonnes per year). With four bins per household, glass will also be taken out of the commingled yellow bin. Without shards of broken glass in the paper , cardboard , metals and plastic bin, much better recycling outcomes can be achieved for all the co-mingled recycling products, including glass.
