24.01.2022 Dear Members, First and foremost, I want to personally extend my gratitude toward you for support APL during this time. Through all this uncertainty, it can be tough to remain motivated. But, rest assured, this will pass and we will be full steam ahead before you know it. Hopefully by now you’ve heard the good news gyms in Australia will soon be reopening, and, with the ongoing effort by the Australian community, it shouldn’t be long until things are back to relatively norm...al again. As you can understand, planning for competitions is still difficult, due to the uncertainty around restrictions. However, APL is starting to tentatively plan an approach to running competitions again. The dates for most states will have lapsed by the time gyms reopen. Nationals was originally scheduled for early August. We respect that not everybody has had access to training equipment during the restrictions, and as such, have made the decision to postpone nationals to later in the year. We believe, in doing so, it creates a more level playing field for all competitors. Recognising also that now there has been a long time between competitions, we are planning on pushing states to August/September, and nationals to December. Please bear in mind that these plans are tentative, and are subject to change based on further information coming out around restrictions but at least this gives members a guide as what we are looking at competition wise for rest of the year. We will provide further updates as things progress and become more certain. I really hope once we are back in competition everybody can make the effort to compete at our state competitions to support our affiliate gyms. Gyms as you know have done it very tough during this period so the entry fees they can generate from competitions once they resume will be a great help to them. Lets support them. Once more we thank you for your understanding and patience in these matters, and we look forward to seeing you all again on the platform soon. Kind regards, John Gabriel President

18.01.2022 Dear APL members, First and foremost, let me extend my sincerest thanks for supporting APL to this point. As you’re all well aware, the covid-19 outbreak has had wide-reaching implications, including the disruption to our powerlifting events for the year. As with most other businesses and services, it’s hard for us to be clear about planning the future for this year. Rest assured, as soon as this threat passes, gyms can reopen and members can resume full training, we will r...eschedule events accordingly for the remainder of the year. We are very hopeful we can still manage to get our 2020 National Championships in later in the year. We are working closely with our meet directors across the country to ensure the quality of our meets only continues to improve. We appreciate your continued support through this time. And we wish all our members, coaches and officials all the very best in navigating the disruptions to your lives and businesses through this. The main thing at this point is that everyone remains safe and adheres to government advice to minimise this threat. We also ask anyone who can, to please support our affiliate gyms by taking up their online training programs during this time. These gyms are of great importance to us all, we need them there when this passes to be able to run competitions and train athletes, so please support them. We are very grateful for their past efforts with us and are looking forward to working with them through and beyond this time. Contact them to discuss, ZeroW @zero_weakness , Strength HQ @strengthhqgym , PTC MacArthur @ptcmacarthur , J-Train Athletic Performance @jtrainathletic and Rucci’s Gym @ruccisgym Once again stay safe and looking forward to seeing you all on the platform again soon. John Gabriel President

17.01.2022 Update on upcoming competitions Status: **NSW STATES** Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions now in place we are going to have to postpone our NSW Titles until a later date to be confirmed once restrictions ease. We are very disappointed to have to do this but it is out of our hands and has to happen in everyone’s best interests. Refunds are available to anyone registered by contacting us. **QLD STATES**... At this stage, the competition is able to go ahead this Sunday as usual. However, given the recent cases on the Gold Coast, the government may implement immediate restrictions. Should this change, competitors will be notified via email, and the information will be posted on social media via the APL and ZeroW pages. Strict hygiene and social distancing practices will be in place on the day and it is important that we all do our part to make sure everybody is safe. As there is no spectators there will be a live stream of the event. **NATIONALS** Planned for Dec 5/6 but with borders still closed and no opening in sight at this stage this event is looking increasingly unlikely in its current format. More information when we can. Unfortunately that’s all we can say at this stage. Just trying our best in very difficult circumstances to keep members informed. Thanks, John Gabriel - President
13.01.2022 Unfortunately with the state of affairs currently in Victoria due to Covid 19 we have had to make the decision to cancel the Vic State Titles scheduled for September 20. Any lifter who has paid there entry fee can email us there account details and we will process a refund ASAP. We are very sad that we have to do this but we have no choice, we hope everyone can stay safe during this. All other events are still proceeding at this stage. There will be an allowance made for eligible Vic lifters that would like to compete at Nationals (assuming restrictions ease by then of course). Please contact us if you are interested in this. We thank everyone for there understanding during these difficult times.
13.01.2022 The 2020 calendar is now available. Make sure your Memberships are up date, you can join or renew your membership for 2020 at www.aplpowerlifting.com

We hope lifters really get in and support our Gyms by... entering these events even without perfect preparations. We understand that this has been a very difficult time for everyone due to Covid 19 and as such we have reduced our membership fee from $75 to $25 for the rest of the year. All competition entry fees go to our Gyms hosting the event, so once again let’s show them some support. Looking forward to seeing everyone back lifting again. Head to our website to register.
