24.01.2022 Wayne Bell, often described as the fastest ARC driver never to win an ARC Championship, will be inducted into the Australian Rally Hall of Fame in August. Bell is also responsible for introducing Hyundai to rallying, initially in Australia and then taking the Korean marque to the Asia Pacific Rally Championship. Join us to celebrate his remarkable rallying career at the ARHOF dinner in Ballarat on Friday 23rd August on the eve of the Pedders Suspension Eureka Rush Rally. The dinner will be hosted by Dean Herridge. Guest speaker is Alistair McRae. We also have special guest, Hayden Paddon joining us along with many of the previous inductees to the Australian Rally Hall of Fame. Link to tickets below. http://www.trybooking.com/BBWWB
24.01.2022 The man hiding in the back room at most rallies, unseen by most, is producing results that are seen by everyone - thousands of views during any rally. Garry Searle is Rallying’s quiet achiever. Garry created rally results systems in the mid 90’s and continues to do so today. It all began with the Canberra International Rally and then a major opportunity to score the Mobil 1 Round Australia Trial in 1995. He revolutionised the results system for Targa Tasmania, a huge task... with 250 competitors at 30 second intervals over 5 days. He adapted these systems for a variety of events including Classic Adelaide, the Grand Prix Rally, East Coast Classic, and various other tarmac events around the country. Garry produces results for the Australian Rally Championship. Because of Garry Searle’s enthusiasm, dedication and expertise, not to say his calmness under great pressure at the end of an event to produce accurate results for finish podium announcements, rallies today have a system that is reliable and flexible and produces an accurate outcome. Garry has also mentored scorers of events in various states, providing them with copies of his system and information on how to adapt it to their event requirements. We are thrilled to recognise Garry’s invaluable contribution to Australian rallying. Join us to celebrate Garry’s induction into the Australian Rally Hall of Fame on Friday 23 August in Ballarat prior to the Pedders Eureka Rush Rally . The dinner will be hosted by Dean Herridge. Guest speaker is Alistair McRae. We also have special guest, Hayden Paddon joining us along with many of the previous inductees to the Australian Rally Hall of Fame. 24.01.2022 Bob Watson's Renault16TS. Bob and Gerry hit a sheep between Junta and Renmark! Don't you think they should have brought it in for a BBQ dinner on the banks of the Murray?

16.01.2022 What a great night it was! Congratulations to all 2015 inductees, we hope you had a wonderful night. To all who were unable to secure a ticket, sorry. This is a part of what you missed: * 2 live Skype crosses to Ari Vatanen in France * 3 live telephone interviews with Juha Kankkunen, in each of which he was extremely chatty and amusing, well done to our interviewers Dean Herridge and Ross Dunkerton... * A stand-in Juha (life size cardboard cutout) which was later auctioned, complete with signatures of all present new and past Australian Rally Hall of Fame inductees. This, and the Akubra hat signed by all 2015 inductees except Greg Carr (regrettably unable to attend due to cycling commitments in Europe) was knocked down to David Johnson Jnr. What a Man Cave Dave will have! Here is the link to some official photos of the night. I will also post separately over the coming days. http://www.kellywannop.com.au/?page_id=1524

03.01.2022 Don't know why Coral's photo didn't go on the timeline, It's in the Album, so here she gets her very own, personal post: Coral Taylor rallied initially with her dad, Norm Fritter in Queensland events Including State Championship and ARC events, and the 1979 Repco Round Australia Trial. Later drivers included Peter Markovich, Peter Glennie & Murray Coote and from 1993 with Neal Bates' Toyota Team Australia, which produced ARC Championships in 1993, 1994, 1995 & 2008, 5 times 2...nd and twice 3rd. Added to the co-driver's role was team management, sponsorship, and Coral, continuing to manage the team, now even drives the Bates Toyota Team service truck. Targa Tasmania 1995 was won in a Toyota Celica GT4, followed by multiple class wins in a Lexus IS200, totalling 11 podium wins in 15 years. 01.01.2022 Spectating at the Southern Cross Rally with his uncle began Barry’s love affair with rallying and led to his involvement with his good friend Bob Halpin assisting with set up for future Southern Cross events. Over the years Barry competed as both a driver and a co-driver in NSW & Qld events and continued to help run club events in Coffs Harbour. In the late 80’s he became the Chief Scrutineer of the Australian Rally Championship, a role which continues today. Barry was awa...rded the CAMS National Motorsport Official of the year in 2001 and then the highest honour that can be granted to an Australian in 2018, the FIA International Scrutineer of the Year. Habby, as he is affectionately known within the rally community, has always been accessible to competitors for advice and help. He is considered a friend by most people within the Rally community. We are excited to recognise Barry’s invaluable contribution to Australian rallying. Join us to celebrate Barry’s induction into the Australian Rally Hall of Fame on Friday 23 August in Ballarat prior to the Pedders Eureka Rush Rally . The dinner will be hosted by Dean Herridge.
