23.01.2022 Introducing my two new boys Johnny & Kenny. They were the last to be adopted from the AusRFS Rescue Service before all adoptions were suspended due to the curr...ent Coronavirus situation. They are very senior brothers aged 2. Both have settled in with amazing ease and have given me the tick of approval by bruxing and boggling when I handle them. So seeing they have gained my trust we did a photo shoot yesterday. See more

20.01.2022 A great story - a lot of what Judy says applies to all animal rescue groups. Check out the orphanage if you believe a rabbit is the right pet for you.

18.01.2022 A very busy day at Red Hill Show, so many people wanting to meet our rats. The judges were kept busy too. Our wonderful junior club members shone all day, introducing their rats to the public, all the way through to helping dismantle the marquees at the end of the day. Well done everyone!

16.01.2022 Oak Towers Aged Care residents enthusiastically welcomed some rattie visitors on Wednesday. The group was eager to learn about pet rats and asked lots of questions. Everyone enjoyed the cuddles and pats, and playtime lasted 2 hours! Thanks to AusRFS member Wendy and her rat girls for this visit.

08.01.2022 A tame rat has been found in Fitzroy Street, St Kilda and brought to Lort Smith. She has no identification. Please contact 9328 3021 if you believe this rat to ...be yours. Please note that this rat is not available for adoption - we are trying to reunite her with her family. Spread the word to all your rat-loving friends. Thank you. #lostrat #lortsmith
07.01.2022 Regardless of the restrictions currently in place due to Covid-19, the AusRFS Education Team were ready for another challenge. Box Hill TAFE, asked us to deliver one of our presentations to a VIRTUAL class! Following two dummy runs a week ahead to iron out any potential technical glitches, the day arrived, with 42 students online to learn all about pet rats. But.... the gremlins could not help themselves and our presenter Julian was invisible to the students. Apart from gli...tch, the presentation went well, with students asking questions via the chat facility. One student, showed us one of his two rats, which were recently rescued from hard rubbish! We were very fortunate to have several short video clips to show the students. AusRFS member Lisa had graciously recorded them a week earlier and effectively were a welcome substitute for not having ratties in a normal classroom environment. At the conclusion, the students posted their thanks through the chat facility, which was most gratifying. Many thanks to Julian for the presentation and Lisa for all the work she put in to the enhancement of the Presentation.

02.01.2022 AusRFS members and their rats gathered to review the last 12 months and make plans for the future. We heard reports on all aspects of the club, voted on important matters and elected committee members for 2020 before enjoying a yummy lunch and continuing the rat chat and rat cuddling.
