25.01.2022 Thank you @kimtouzellifethroughmylens for the photo and information and to Pary at All Things Jervis Bay for reporting it to us. We've been on the lookout for this turtle which was last seen around Red Rock at Callala (Jervis Bay). The large load of algae covering it is a sign that it's a very unwell animal.... We have alerted local divers and Dolphin Watch Cruises - Jervis Bay so their crews can let us know if they see it. Hopefully we can get it in soon for a vet check and some TLC. If you happen to spot it, please call us on 0431282238. - Shari

23.01.2022 Persistence paid off today when Ivy finally ate! We've been trying multiple times a day to entice to her to begin feeding. Our awesome volunteer Trish came to the clinic to help us this afternoon and Ivy took food from her straight away! Ivy also had her vet check this week with Amanda at North Nowra Veterinary Hospital and Jervis Bay Veterinary Clinic Some old abscesses needed checking out and one large wound near her cloaca will need a minor procedure to debride the old tissue. Other than being weak and slow she's in ok condition with no other major issues found, so hopefully she'll be back in the deep in a few weeks.

23.01.2022 There's some wonderful webinars coming up in the next few days. Check out the Eventbrite page to register and learn more - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/the-saving-our-species-prog... 21.01.2022 Who doesn’t like a nice cool off on a hot day!

21.01.2022 Bringing a pelican back from botulism can be really difficult but our amazing Central Coast coordinator Cathy sure has the magic touch & of course skills and experience to make it happen. Well done on yet another successful rehab. Big love to Leo, he now has a second chance at life

12.01.2022 Doesn’t get much better than this. Check out this awesome video of Billie & Ella, the green turtles, when they were released on the weekend by our central coast branch.

11.01.2022 A big thank you to @Shoalhaven ARC Rescue Cooperative hub, the Animal Rescue Cooperative & Partners for the donation of food & medical supplies for Australian Seabird Rescue South Coast to support the rescue and rehabilitation of Sea Birds and Marine Reptiles coming into care. We’ve been inundated recently with fishing hook and line entanglements, depleting what little medical supplies we have, so this support couldn’t have come at a better time Thank you so much for all ...that you do to support wildlife, wildlife carers and rescue organisations like ours, your ongoing support of @Australian Seabird Rescue South Coast branch is so appreciated and means everything to the wildlife we rehabilitate back into the wild #WIRES #PetbarnFoundation #MarsPetCare #ThankYouARC Pictured: Carers Lisa & Lauren collecting the supplies from the Shoalhaven Hub

09.01.2022 This is general manager Olly Pitt from our northern branch and head office doing some turtle catching yesterday.

06.01.2022 A heartbreaking image below of a petrel that has been found dead after ingesting a helium balloon. Did you know it’s still legal in NSW to release up to 20 helium balloons even though we know they kill seabirds & marine turtles. Unbelievable. It needs to stop now, these senseless deaths are completely preventable. ... Please send any balloon debris you find directly to the offices of MP Sussan Ley & MP Matt Kean, (postal address below) and please take photos of any dead or injured wildlife you encounter and share with our page or with No Balloon Release Australia. Lisa

04.01.2022 It's bird counting time! You can birdwatch and record your sightings from your backyard, workplace or your favourite outdoor spot (anywhere really). We would love to see your photos of seabirds, shorebirds and water birds so please feel free to post your pics below. Post them on our page or tag us #asrscbirdcount2020 as well as #AussieBirdCount and #birdlifeoz... It's a great opportunity to check on the health of your local bird populations and report any entanglements, injuries or other issues to us by calling our hotline on 0431282238. - Shari

03.01.2022 Shearwaters really do fly underwater! Mahalo to everyone who has kept an eye out for these downed birds. Fallout season continues on... if you find a downed shearwater, please take it to a dropoff station as soon as you can. https://www.hawaiiwildlifecenter.org/oahu-seabird-aid-progr

01.01.2022 Another weary soul being cared for at the clinic. This time a Green Sea Turtle who was found yesterday afternoon and rescued by the absolutely amazing humans Lara and Dylan from Woebegone Freedive. While they were out guiding a freediving tour, they noticed the turtle was swimming very slowly on the surface, was lethargic, covered in algae and not swimming away from them. They caught it and called us asap for advice. Amazing work guys and it was so nice to finally meet you b...oth. Meeting other passionate conservationists and ocean lovers is always a joy and it's good to know that so many people are keeping an eye out for the wildlife She's missing a hind flipper, as you can see in the last photo and we'll know more about what's going on after our vet visit tomorrow. - Shari
