08.01.2022 Today we commemorate the heroic actions of Waterside Workers’ Federation (WWF) members in Port Kembla, who refused to load pig iron bound for military production in Japan onto the SS Dalfram in 1938. The military-backed regime in Japan had launched an invasion of China in 1937, and the WWF members took a stand against militarism and in solidarity with the Chinese people.
