23.01.2022 We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to collaborate with Brickworks Building Products once again for their 'Style Inspiration' project. The vision behind the project was to create a unique range of curated colour schemes that will not only inspire customers, but give them the confidence to create their dream home. Our Director, Kim Chadwick, had the opportunity to refresh the original 8 colour schemes created, in collaboration with Doswell and McLean to speak to current trends. Each colour scheme has been influenced by current market trends, as well as looking to the future of residential design. 22.01.2022 As businesses are starting to tap into consumers desire for nostalgia, our Director, Kim Chadwick, believes that moving to an 'ageless society' is contributing to the 'kidult' movement. "We are churned through the sausage mill- go to school, get a job, get a mortgage and get old. But as people are living longer, with health on our side, people don't feel old and they want to play and have fun and be less serious." Issue 55 features the two trend stories for AW 2020/21, Dome and Gorge. 19.01.2022 'Sienna' is the beautiful dark and moody colour palette we created in collaboration with Doswell and McLean for the Brickworks Building Products 'Style Inspiration' Project. This palette is deeply textural, inspired by the rich and luxurious elements of the hills and landscape. This scheme contrasts warm, rich colours with pale and fresh, encouraging bold design and high contrast.
18.01.2022 'Rouge' is the bold and contemporary palette we created in collaboration with Doswell and McLean for the Brickworks Building Products 'Style Inspiration' Project. This palette is unreserved, featuring exciting contrasts between reds, greys and dynamic blacks with a glamorous edge. 'Rouge' is traditional with an expressive, contemporary twist.

17.01.2022 The first colour scheme we created in collaboration with Doswell and McLean for the Brickworks Building Products 'Style Inspiration' project, 'Blanco' features contemporary, high-contrast elements; utilising a neutral palette of whites and charcoals, complemented by the soft tones of pebble and chalk. This scheme has a charming youthful feel, drawing inspiration from the wistful simplicity of translucence and solidity.

11.01.2022 The 'Formations' installation, by Note Design Studio was designed to "trigger emotions and create that gut punch of an experience". Showcasing Tarkett Official's new IQ Surface range at Milan Design Week, 'Formations' featured 24 towering columns, covered in the new IQ Surface vinyl and topped with an assortment of 3D shapes. The geometric totem poles were all arranged beneath the glass roof of Milan's Circolo Filologico. The installation also included a series of meeting spa...ces decorated with the material and a large table covered in geometric 3D shapes, allowing users to experience the new material on a smaller scale, seeing the beautiful detail up close. We absolutely love this new range from Tarkett and the gorgeous Milan Design Week installation. This palette combines dark, contemporary blacks, pewters and charcoals to exude a strength and confidence. Solid, traditional materials have been utilised in dramatic colours and textures to create a contemporary edge.

04.01.2022 The final of the eight colour schemes created in collaboration with Doswell and McLean for the Brickworks Building Products 'Style Inspiration' project, 'Bisque' is the perfect palette for those wanting to maximise natural colours and textures throughout their home. The warm, honest tones of the creams, browns and timber accents in this palette suit both traditional and contemporary designs.
04.01.2022 A few 'behind the scenes' snaps showing the process involved in bringing the beautiful Brickworks Building Products 'Style Inspiration' colour schemes to life. This project was a true collaboration, as Kim worked with the team at Brickworks to pull together the products of each scheme whilst the talented duo behind Doswell & McLean styled and photographed each. The result is eight, beautiful palettes that meet current market trends, whilst still reflecting a timeless elegance for future longevity. What can we say? It takes an army to create beauty!

The presentation will cover colour theory and the trend process as well as local and global trends in building, design and architecture. 02.01.2022 Recently, our Director, Kim Chadwick, was invited to present two colour theory sessions for Wagga Women in Construction. Sponsored by Tony Balding, Managing Director of BuildPro and National Tiles Wagga Wagga, the sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by all involved (most of all, by Kim!). The best part of all was that the funds raised through ticket sales were donated to Beyond Blue and both sessions sold out! A huge thank you to everyone involved in putting together such a fantastic event.

01.01.2022 In response to a shifting model towards preserving the world's finite natural resources and capital, Tarkett Official have committed to developing a circular economy in which materials are reused, integrating recycled materials instead of virgin materials into the production of new products. This is where their new range, 'IQ Surface' was born. The durable vinyl flooring material is produced using recycled materials and can be recycled by Tarkett when it is no longer in use. Note Design Studio, who worked with Tarkett to design the colours and patterns of the range, then designed a beautiful installation inside a historic Milanese building for Milan Design week to show the beautiful product in application.
