09.01.2022 I find multi-character (crowd) scenes, much more challenging than single-character works. The composition alone is much trickier, and definitely doesn't always ...go as planned. I worked much harder on the composition for this one, studying and applying a number of classical rules (and breaking a couple too). I'm really happy with the result - it feels nicely balanced and I feel that the eye is drawn to the right places. Spent, I guess, 50-60 hours over 4 days on this one, and will definitely tackle more of these. "Greco-Roman" Ben Hoole, 2021
