Endurance events race for a minimum of 4 hours and can be as long as 24 hours, thats continuous racing.... Pit stops, driver changes, refueling stops, race strategy and kart preparation all combine to offer a challenging and exciting real racing environment at a cost which is comparatively affordable. Endurance Karts WeigherThe karts are powered by two 6.5hp Honda motors and can achieve speeds in excess of 100 kph. The racing is competitive and close with teams often separated by seconds or minutes at the end of a 6 hour race. So every team is looking to gain a couple of seconds, which could make all the difference. Because these are endurance races, each team has multiple drivers. So teams need to plan when they will change the drivers, & how long they can maintain the pace. With driving stints usually between 1 2 hours at the wheel. The lower the weight ratio to power the faster the karts go, which means any team can shave off critical seconds off their time, by dropping their weight. So if teams are looking for a competitive advantage to go faster, then it would make sense to make their karts & drivers weigh less. Since all the karts have access to the same Honda motors, the lower the combined weight the faster the karts. Any team which can find a bunch of skinny drivers, would be able to go faster. 14.01.2022 Chain of Responsibility Legislation Youre Responsible If Your Trucks Are Overweight! What If This Was Your Truck ? A NSW Court had awarded $304,646 in fines and costs against freight and logistics company, Mannway Logistics, for 47 offences involving overloaded or overweight trucks. The Magistrate also issued a Supervisory Intervention Order against the company, requiring it to change its management practices to ensure these offences do not reoccur and that staff are train...ed and better supervised. The Magistrates Order, which came into effect on 18 November 2008, requires the company to accurately weigh all heavy vehicles before starting a journey. A consignee receiving produce was charged with over $18 million in fines for allegedly allowing overloaded trucks to be accepted over a period of time. According to the charge, the receiver either knew that this was happening and did nothing, or did not know and should have known. Michael Daley, NSW Roads Minister NSW has the most comprehensive heavy- vehicle inspection regime in Australia. Its a regime thats clearly saving lives and clearly stamping out the incidence of overloading. Daley calls it great news for operators who do the right thing and want to work in a professional industry that competes on a level playing field. Heavy vehicles represent 2.5 per cent of all registered vehicles in New South Wales, but account for 8 per cent of vehicle kilometres travelled and 21 per cent of fatalities on New South Wales roads. This weighbridge was required to be added to the existing weighbridge to increase the systems length for the weighing of the trucks being without split weighed, AWE managed the entire works as a turnkey operation which included weighbridge hut & external lighting within the specified, this minimized any disruption within the operations of the site. The load cells are highly accurate transducers, designed to sense force or weight under a wide range of adverse conditions. Theyre the most essential part of an electronic weighing system, but also the most vulnerable. The sensing or spring element is designed in such a way it develops a strain, directly proportional to the load applied. The strain gauges, are usually connected in a multiple of four,... called a Wheatstone bridge configuration. This converts the very small change in resistance into a usable electrical signal. Load cells may be damaged because of (shock) overloading, lightning strikes or heavy surges in current, chemical or moisture ingress, mis-handling (dropping, lifting on cable, etc.),vibration, seismic events or internal component malfunctioning.
