25.01.2022 Had a wonderful day out with residents off The World on Sunday enjoying an abundance of delicious goodies from producers at Blue Hills Honey, Tarkine Fresh Oysters, Red Cow Organics, Hursey Seafoods and Sweet-Ness at the Sea.

25.01.2022 A great day with a family from Nevada who cruised in on the Silver Muse this morning. No platypus sightings but the caves were great and the Devils put on a show during feed time.

24.01.2022 The Norwegian Jewel came into Burnie and we had a jam packed day. Guide Falls looking nice after recent rain and the wallabies came out to see the spectators at Fernglade. It took 3 different stops to find platypus today, but success as we were leaving. Everybody loved the tasting at Wattle Hill Olives, Anvers for chocolates and finished off with a trip to cherry farm for ice cream. It was a very damp start early on, but sunshine popped thru and made a great day better. Happy Australia Day.

24.01.2022 I have found a new place to show guests. Right here on my doorstep. Watched the Spirit of Tasmania head to Melbourne this morn from my vantage point at the Bluff. Spotted a few wallabies as I wandered the track around Tiagarra Aboriginal site. Very tranquil and scenic....

24.01.2022 Day 3 - the rain followed us around, but it wasnt a problem. We started our tastings at Ashgrove Cheese, Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Cafe, 41 Degrees South, The Honey Farm and then a delicious lunch at Hazelbrae Hazelnuts. Into Launceston for a stroll up Cataract Gorge to see the noisy peacocks before finishing up at the Beaconsfield gold mine. Another full and fun day out.

23.01.2022 Day 4 - Stanley. Another action packed day and the last with these bubbly sisters from NSW. We started off at Braddons Lookout with views over the Forth Valley before venturing to Turners Beach Berry Patch for ice cream. Onto Stanley, via Table Cape, for scallop pies and Cape Grim beef pies for lunch. We stopped in at Blue Hills Honey for a tasting before the Big Tree and Dip Falls, which had plenty of water flowing. Last stop was the lovely Boat Harbour. Its been a great week.

23.01.2022 Day 2 - Cradle Mountain. We went via the topiary town of Railton and checked out the murals in Sheffield before a couple of little walks at Cradle Mountain and then a visit to the Devil Park. Fantastic to see some young ones and a real treat to see 4 suckling off Mama. Just as we left saw a wombat and large honey coloured wallaby. Just have to find an echidna in the next few days to complete the wildlife....

23.01.2022 Last cruise ship of the season. Two Dave Koz Jazz cruises in a row. It was an amazing vibe amongst the passengers we saw come into Burnie and a pleasure to show some of these guests around. Im going to miss all this until next Spring....

22.01.2022 The Silver Muse came into Burnie for the first time the other day and it was lovely to show off the coast. Hellyers whiskey tasting was a treat and we finished off at a mystery location to see a few kangaroos much to the delight of the guests.

22.01.2022 Monday set off in a different direction with more residents off The World. We had a fantastic close viewing of one of the local platypus in Penguin before heading off for a day of tastings at Turners Beach Berry Patch, Ashgrove Cheese, Wattle Hill Olives, House Of Anvers, lunch at Ghost Rock Vineyard and finishing the day at Spreyton Cider Co. My guests were very impressed with the amazing producers we have here on the NW coast.

20.01.2022 The Queen Elizabeth cruised into Burnie again today and another lovely day out with guests from Sydney. Thanks to Wattle Hill Olives, House Of Anvers, La Villa Wines and Spreyton Cider Co for making the visits so enjoyable.

20.01.2022 The Norwegian Jewel was back again yesterday and whilst we didnt spot any wildlife, at least the weather was great for a whirlwind day out to Stanley.

19.01.2022 Day 1 of 4 with two sisters from NSW. We started at Leven Canyon, Preston Falls, Gunns Plains Caves and then found the elusive platypus before a couple of tasting stops at Spreyton Cider Co, House Of Anvers and Wattle Hill Olives. Fabulous weather, great day out....

19.01.2022 The Queen Elizabeth was in town yesterday and whilst the weather wasnt perfect, had a lovely day out to Stanley. The poppies are flowering everywhere and the scenery still shone thru the drizzle. Looking forward to doing it all over again soon.

18.01.2022 Lovely day out with guests from the Silver Muse. Even got a very close viewing of the elusive platypus, but too quick to photograph. Last couple of days for cherries. The ice cream and fresh fruit went down a treat.

18.01.2022 The Norwegian Jewel came into Burnie today and it was one soggy morning, but dried out by the time we got to Stanley. Thanks to Touchwood Cottages, Craft Gallery & Cafe, Stanley for delicious scallop pies for lunch. Finished the day back in Burnie at Fernglade where we glimpsed a platypus and saw a few wallaby. A great finish to our wet start.

18.01.2022 After 8 years, I still love to visit the sights on the North West Coast and I doubt I will ever tire of seeing the same places. Today the Sea Princess was in town and I took a group of Aussie guests out to Stanley via the Big Tree, Dip Falls, a tasting at Blue Hills Honey and Table Cape. The wallabies didnt surface as we had our scallop pies for lunch on top of the Nut, but the sun came out for perfect photo ops at Boat Harbour. Happy visitors left our shores tonight and I get to do it all over again in a few days - cant wait...

17.01.2022 It was cold and windy today, but that didnt dampen the spirits of guests from the Noordam on a trip to Stanley. Blue Hills Honey lovely new premises/tasting made a big impact, as did the scallop pies from Touchwood Cottages, Craft Gallery & Cafe, Stanley. No wildlife sightings today, but spectacular scenery and a really fun group of people.

16.01.2022 Stunning day for a trip to Stanley, Rocky Cape, Table Cape and Boat Harbour with a couple of guests off the Regatta yesterday.

15.01.2022 3 ladies from Melbourne arrived on the Pacific Aria. We spotted a few platypus, sampled cider, berry ice cream, delicious chocs at Anvers and product at Wattle Hill Olives before a stop to see the begonias in flower - always a stunning way to finish the day.

14.01.2022 Guests off the Sea Princess were treated to lovely Autumn weather and great platypus viewings today, amongst other things....

13.01.2022 I had a lovely group from the US yesterday off the Sea Princess, on what turned out to be a very damp day. Lots of fun and tasty visits to Turners Beach Berry Patch, Wattle Hill Olives, House Of Anvers and Hellyers Road Distillery. Platypus and Kangaroo sightings always a hit for overseas visitors. Looks like my last cruise tour for the season with the Coronavirus forcing cancellations for some guests. Devastating for so many who have travel plans in place.

13.01.2022 A fabulous day at Cradle yesterday. Good wildlife viewing and the weather held out for most of the day.

11.01.2022 What a lovely leisurely day to take visitors off the Regatta on a tour. The weather has been warm and Guide Falls was just a trickle compared to 3 days ago, but beautiful with all the moss. We finished our day at the wildlife park and saw an array of Aussie favourites.

10.01.2022 Did a foodie run yesterday with a lovely family who cruised in on the Norwegian Jewel. 41 Degrees, Ashgrove, Anvers, Wattle Hill Olives, Spreyton Cider, and Berry Patch along with scallop pies for lunch, platypus viewing, feeding Kangaroos and lots of scenic photo stops on this beautiful summers day. We packed a lot in and now have added 3 more fans to the Tassie list!

08.01.2022 The Sun Princess was in today and we had a great day. Saw wallaby at Fernglade and platypus at the Arboretum. Tastings at House Of Anvers, Wattle Hill Olives, La Villa Wines and ice cream at Turners Beach Berry Patch. Only 6 weeks left of the cruise season and I am going to miss these little excursions....

08.01.2022 The weather didnt play nice yesterday when I took guests from the Regatta cruise ship to Stanley, but we still had a good day. Delicious scallop pies as always from Touchwood Gallery & Cafe and we were lucky to see a huge number of wallabies at Fernglade Reserve as well as a lone platypus - great way to finish the day.

08.01.2022 The weather didn't play nice yesterday when I took guests from the Regatta cruise ship to Stanley, but we still had a good day. Delicious scallop pies as always from Touchwood Gallery & Cafe and we were lucky to see a huge number of wallabies at Fernglade Reserve as well as a lone platypus - great way to finish the day.

07.01.2022 I was delighted to see this article from The Mercury last weekend, that featured my business amongst the top 5. It is always a good feeling to be able to show off local producers here on the North-West coast.

06.01.2022 Big day out with guests off the Noordam. Dip Falls and Guide Falls both looked lovely with lots of water, the poppies were out and found an echidna who put on a great show foraging for lunch.

06.01.2022 Last week one of the cruise ships left Burnie and headed to Kangaroo Island. Today I learnt that the Norwegian Jewel travelled down from Sydney and was the first ship to stop back in at Eden. How fantastic that they are doing this again so soon after the devastation around these areas and these tourists, both local and from overseas are so happy to support in the rebuild of these communities by spending money in these places. It makes me very emotional and I just want to shout "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - Oi, Oi, Oi". Thanks to the cruise lines and thanks to those still travelling....

06.01.2022 The Queen Elizabeth came into Burnie for the first time today and I took a lovely group from Sydney on a whirlwind tasting around the North West. We started out with a great platypus viewing and finished the day with begonias, butterflies and bees...

05.01.2022 Robyn and I were as excited as two giddy schoolgirls watching this platypus in Penguin today.

05.01.2022 Still open for business and looking forward to seeing more visitors on our shores.

03.01.2022 The Silver Muse came into Burnie this week and I got to share some of our best spots in the area including the caves at Gunns Plains. 2 lovely couples from Arizona, frequent cruisers but first timers to Tassie who really enjoyed what they saw. I think everybody falls a little in love with this place after their visit....

02.01.2022 After Thursdays downpour, it was great to see the sun out yesterday whilst the Queen Elizabeth was in Burnie. I took 4 lovely ladies from Sydney on a foodie run around the area with bonus sightings of platypus and echidna much to everyones delight. We visited Ashgrove Cheese, Wattle Hill Olives, House Of Anvers, La Villa Wines and Turners Beach Berry Patch. Stops at The Bluff and Braddons Lookout showed off the gorgeous scenery of the area.

02.01.2022 Platypus, Wallaby and Echidna. How great to hit the trifecta whilst touring with a couple off the Pacific Jewel today. Then the tastings began with chocolate, cherries, wine, cider, olive oil and scallop pie. What fun.

02.01.2022 The Pacific Eden was unable to dock on Tues due to bad weather, but turned up again yesterday much to everyones delight. It snowed in Tassie overnight and the morning started at a cool 6 degrees, but turned into a lovely day for a foodie tour along with NW coast with 2 couples from SA. Lots of tastings, gorgeous scenery, delicious lunch at Ghostrock and finished the day with begonias and bumble bees.

02.01.2022 Last day of the year and I got to play tourist on my own patch. Spent abour an hr watching this lovely platypus.
