25.01.2022 After many negotiations with our venues over the past few months, it has been decided in the context of Covid-19 to cancel our planned performance for Remembrance Day 2020. We are optimistic of delivering our usual full concert program in 2021, including the pieces we had scheduled for this performance. Philanthropists still have another live music event in November 2020, when trumpet player extraordinaire Mike Purcell presents a brass recital at The Q. These small-batch ...recitals are our artistic response to Covid-19, and were launched in October with Sarah Nielsen’s flute recital Last Man Standing. We sincerely thank our philanthropists for continuing to stand by us throughout 2020. For that reason, we are now offering all 2020 philanthropists double tickets for our 2021 season, for as long as their subscription continues. That means, every 2020 philanthropist will be able to bring a friend for free to each of our 2021 concerts. For Remembrance Day 2020, please join our mailing list and we will send you a very special curated playlist to commemorate the event. With sincere appreciation and thanks, Artistic Director Geoff Grey & the players of Australian Wind Symphony.

24.01.2022 This week we are proud to present our first live performance for 2020, in a private event for our highly valued philanthropists. Flute soloist Sarah Nielsen presents Last Man Standing, a solo flute recital exploring the theme of solitude and isolation. This recital features a variety of works ranging from JS Bach to Canberra favourite Larry Sitsky, and is centered around the feature piece Last Man Standing, for solo flute, by Kit Turnbull. With thanks to The Q for sharing our vision in presenting this event.
