23.01.2022 Japanese Teahouse - process of construction. 1) Measure and locate the design within the existing space. 2) Get the team to dig a really big hole (and lay out a waterproof membrane). 3) Fill hole with water (check for any leaks). 4) Dig footing locations and concrete into place. Set natural basalt boulders around footings. 23.01.2022 One of my favorite plants in my garden .Blue flower water iris looking magnificent.The light blue colors work well with my yellow and orange Kangaroo paws.Both plant varieties work well around the billabong .Iris can be submerged in the water while the Kangaroo paws needs to be planted away from water area and in a drier soil.Happy gardening Wayne.

16.01.2022 My plant pick of the week For your eyes only rose.It is from the Chris Warner rose collection and is a stunner.Fast growing.Flowers profusely and disease resistant.This specimen is growing in my private garden and was planted two years ago and has already triple in size from original plant height when planted. 04.01.2022 Today is the 102nd anniversary of the Battle of Montbrehain - the conflict for which George Ingram of Seville was later awarded the highest award for bravery on... the battlefield - the Victoria Cross. Lt. George Mawby Ingram, M.M, 24th Bn., A.I.F (Seville) - . Citation for the Victoria Cross - 'For most conspicuous bravery and initiative during the attack on Montbrehain, East of Peronne, on 5th October, 1918. When early in the advance his platoon was held up by a strong point, Lt. Ingram, without hesitation, dashed out and rushed the post at the head of his men, capturing nine machine guns and killing 42 enemy after stubborn resistance. Later, when the company had suffered severe casualties from enemy posts, and many leaders had fallen, he at once took control of the situation, rallied his men under intense fire, and led them forward. He himself rushed the first post, shot six of the enemy, and captured a machine gun, thus overcoming serious resistance. On two subsequent occasions he again displayed great dash and resource in the capture of enemy posts, inflicting many casualties and taking 62 prisoners. Throughout the whole day he showed the most inspiring example of courage and leadership, and freely exposed himself regardless of danger'. Hopefully this time next year we can all get together and pay tribute to George with a small ceremony at his magnificent memorial in Seville.
