To gain admission to the Order of The Silver Trowel, a Companion must be not only nominated to the Most Illustrious Grand Master but be held in high respect and esteem by his Companions and have demonstrated great leadership and merit within Freemasonry over many years. As ...a general rule and convention across the world, usually only 10 Companions are admitted once a year to The Order of the Silver Trowel in each jurisdiction. The only "regalia" for this special Order is a modest and simple lapel badge consisting of a silver trowel which is only worn by members of the Order.
