25.01.2022 I've done it! I've completed my 40km challenge for Australian's living with mental illness. It wasn't easy, but knowing I've helped fund vital support tools for people who need them most motivated me to cross the finish line. Thank you to everyone who supported me so far. It means so much to me!... If you haven't had chance to support me yet, it's not too late. Click here to show your support: https://www.onefootforward.org.au/fundraisers/paulreeves

16.01.2022 A bit of history now. Big Brother, the Judo Federation of Australia has formalised a special needs category in national and state events called "No Limits" by adding a special needs category to every event, which was a good thing but I like to think we, "Elizabeth Special Needs Judo Club Inc started the ball rolling across Australia. We are a extremely small club that funded a big event called Australia's Special Need Judo Friendship Games 10 years ago. Although less formal...Continue reading

07.01.2022 Please Remove if not appropriate... NEW FACE BOOK SITES FOR THE WORLD TO JOIN DURING OUR DIFFICULT TIMES. IT IS A POSITIVE SOCIAL CONNECTION HUB WHERE PEOPLE CAN SHARE THEIR LIVES WHILE BEING ISOLATED FROM THE WORLD.... Hello Everyone, I have created a new FB Page which has rapidly grown over past week. The aim is for people around the world to share photos of: Themselves, Pets, Family, Home Life, Their Streets, Their City or Towns, Their Gardens, Cooking, Anything Really! To say they are Ok during this time of Isolation. It's important that we as a global society remain connected and despite there so much concern about our future, we WILL get through this and life will continue. I feel it's important that young people globally, learn that people are doing the best they can under difficult conditions. Nevertheless it's the little pleasures in life we learn to appreciate. So, Please Join Up... Share your photos and say that you are Ok. Thankyou. https://www.facebook.com/groups/213306573339087/lease Remove if not appropriate... 06.01.2022 Our Judo Club Street Sign has moved again. Can you guess where? Approaching what intersection?

05.01.2022 Another Elizabeth Special Needs Judo Club Inc meeting. The first of 2020. Some hard planning ahead. Thanks Sensei Graham and Club Secretary Helen Abrahams for all.your Voluntary Work and Ongoing Dedication.

03.01.2022 300 leaflets randomly placed on car windscreens promoting Elizabeth Special Needs Judo Club Inc. I know there will be some gumpy bums out there who will phone just to rant about leaflets under their windscreen wipers.... But if we increase our membership levels...so be it. First target strategy is St Anges area where the club's dojo exists. Next target is Tea Tea Shopping Centre... mostly Post Office Boxes. The catchment area is so huge that house to house would be time con...suming, time and labour intensive. We don't want to become too big, but big enough to be safe, and cater hiring our venue. I have put some club cards on the St Agnes Shopping Centre Notice Board as well.

02.01.2022 Hey Groupies, This is Our club street sign. It's made solid and heavy and strong. I had this laying around at home since we got the new sign....and thought it's good to keep using. The idea is to chain this to structure like a tree, etc where there is high exposure like a intersection ... After a week I will move to a new location within Modbury, Elizabeth, Salisbury, St Agnes, Mawson Lakes, ...etc. It's made solid because I expect some idiots will try to kick it, or steal it... it will be pad locked. If a council doesn't like it, I will move it to a new catchment area. I intend to put it somewhere tomorrow. Cheers, Sensei Paul Reeves. Chair-person, Founder, Coach. Elizabeth Special Needs Judo Club Inc.

02.01.2022 Thankyou everyone, The Special Need Friendship Games will never return... But it was funThankyou everyone, The Special Need Friendship Games will never return... But it was fun

01.01.2022 It seems like a 100 years ago...

01.01.2022 Australia's Special Needs Judo Friendship Games is about to take a new challenge. We are going to continue to run these games says founder Sensei Paul Reeves. As long before a special needs category existed, (based mostly on the Dutch Model), the Friendship Games offer a different format of completion. ... The difference is that it is more relaxed, focusses on friendly competition and maybe considered as another option to add to a judo itinerary. The Australia's Special Need Judo Friendship Games first started nearly a decade ago because there was no 'fair' competition available in Australia at the time. In fact, we were the first to offer the ONLY option for special needs judo to compete in a national competition. 'No Limits' has become more inclusive with the development of a JFA special needs committee. We support this move entirely but we feel, why disband an original concept that has been run for over a decade and offers something different. The Friendship Games is not in any means competing with JFA, or Kodokan Competitions with inclusive rules. It is just another avenue to meet and compete in a smaller circle. Elizabeth Special Needs Judo Club Inc founded the Special Needs Friendship Games, we are you a small club yet we funded for trophies, insurance, and even financially assisted judokas to South Australian venues from interstate. We had some awesome supporters too like Lismore Judo Club, Judo SA, Judo WA, NSW Judo. We appreciate everything that was achieved and our supporters who assisted us. My perspective has changed. I support all the changes that the JFA has put into place. It was a good move to formalised rules etc. However, the Australia's Special Need Judo Friendship Games will continue based on my experience. I am hoping to make this a State Wide (SA) event with open invitation to any interstate competitors. As mentioned before, the format for this competition is far more relaxed and less informal and based on its HUGE success in the past, this should be viewed as unrelated to any JFA events. In the meantime I will encourage all competitors to attend any Kodokan, or JFA "No Limits" events to gain experience and recognition of their skills and learning formally. Stay tune on our next Special Needs Judo Friendship Games. The Planning has begun. Good Luck, Learn with Pride, and have fun. Judo is a AWESOME sport.
