25.01.2022 The old Masonic lodge under a stormy sky . This spooky, abandoned building in the town of Cue has an eerie vibe to it and was built in 1899 of timber and galvanised iron, with a pressed iron interior, and was used as a meeting place in town. There are very few buildings like this left in Australia nowadays, and it is now said to be the biggest, free-standing, double-storey corrugated iron structure in the southern hemisphere! Have you visited this historical gem or any of the other abandoned buildings in the "ghost town" of Cue?

16.01.2022 Imagine if the water spurting from your tap had to travel 560km to get there! For the past century, the earth’s most precious resource has been feeding through a giant pipeline, drawn from the Perth Hills and sent to Western Australia's eastern Wheatbelt farmlands and the metal-rich Goldfields. Constructed from 1898 to 1902, it was the brainchild of engineer C.Y O'Connor, and was first regarded as lunacy, but later an engineering wonder. The Golden Pipeline now delivers water to some 100,000 people, and it takes between 5 and 11 days for water to move from the start to the end of the pipe. You can now follow the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail in three to five days along a self-drive, showcasing the pipeline as well as the beautiful countryside of the Wheatbelt.
