22.01.2022 STORMY’s LEG IS SAVED Stormy had a terrible injury to his left forelimb. He somehow fractured his radius and ulna and dislocated his elbow. This is a terrible i...njury and would sometimes end with amputation. STORMY’s loving family wanted to save his leg. It’s impossible to repair a dislocated elbow until the fractures of the radius and ulna are repaired. It is quite a challenging surgery on these tiny bones so close to the elbow. Dr Rob plated the fractures and then fixed the elbow. Stormy can now walk on his leg and is doing great. We are all just so happy See more

04.01.2022 AI PUPS conceived at Treendale and born just hours before this photo. This proud mum was very keen to show off her babies. She ran around excitedly and was feel...ing very proud of herself. Mum had progesterone tests on site at Treendale and she had artificial insemination when it was time for love to happen. Dad couldn’t quite work out how it all works. Mums eye rolls were well disguised and fortunately saved some red faces for the male of the species. With a little help from the vet, conception was achieved. We have a very excited and proud mum. 5 bouncing bundles of joy. AI needs to be at the correct time. Progesterone blood tests done at Treendale pet medical allow us to get the timing right. Dr Rob is a daddy See more

03.01.2022 Happy Vet Nurse day!

02.01.2022 PROSTHETIC LIMBS Ted came in today to get fitted up for his prosthetic limb. A farming accident unfortunately badly dislocated Ted's hock (ankle) - he had a sev...ere tarsocrural luxation (see photos). He needed a repair or a pantarsal arthrodesis with a risk of complications. Ted would also have to be confined for many months to give the surgery a chance and Ted doesn't do confinement. His lovely owners didn't want Ted to be confined for months or have to go through another surgery if the first one failed. They elected to have a low limb amputation and to get a prosthetic leg for Ted. Treendale Pet medical is a referral centre for prosthetic limbs. Ted's owner has chosen a real flash colour "solar" for Ted prosthetic limb. Ted will be on 4 legs again soon See more
