22.01.2022 Dementia Action Week 2019 calls on all Australians to consider how discrimination impacts people living with dementia, their families and carers. At last week'...s DRTA Conference, some of our Australis College staff members were able to look through the eyes of a person living with dementia by utilizing Dementia Australia's high quality virtual reality technology, Educational Dementia Immersive Experices (EDIE). This was an eye-opening experience and brought to our attention the importance of appropriate dementia care in Australia. We strongly encourage all staff, students, and members of our community to take action this week. Nobody chooses to have dementia but we can choose how we respond to the people in our lives who are living with dementia. #dementiadoesntdiscriminate

As a trainer Julie was great, always supportive, and really focused on my learning and so responsive to my questions. This meant that I could maximise my study time and avoided any lengthy delays. I was re...ally worried I was going to be left in the deep end and was unsure on whether I would find study hard. The study wasn’t easy but it was manageable and the trainers made it easier to study."
