02.01.2022 AuStrom... the beginnings.... It was a humid and muggy night. The stars had aligned and a ringing mobile cut through the thick air. Graham is calling Hmmm, should I answer? You see I’m not one for phone calls, but something made me think, I have to take this call. This call was the start of something passionate, something connecting and something we had never entirely envisioned. AuStrom.... Graham had rallied Mark Ferguson and Peter Coote, and now it was time to see if this V-Strom riding chick wanted to be part of a team. A team that would pioneer in bringing together V-Strom riders from all corners of Australia. So, the four of us were now brought together in the darkness of night on March 7, 2016. And I must say it was one of the most sweet-talking conversations I have ever had with Graham at this point bribes of scotch and cake were not discussed but I had to say yes. I could feel this was something that would be great, which it well and truly is. Looking back over the last two years, the occasional butting of heads behind the scenes, the hilarity of what we got up to on a Friday afternoon in our virtual admin lounge trust me if they ever make a book about this, crocheted penis warmers will be included was something you hold dear and brings together a bond in making our group, AuStrom what it is today. AuStrom Riders. With now well over a 1000 members to our group, rarely a disagreement between us all, I must say how proud I am at watching how we have evolved and become the supporting group we are, but most of all the mateship that have grown from this. Within this time, with losing our damn good mate Peter Coote, a man with the ultimate compassion, wisdom and sense of humour we all so seriously miss, I am sure, wherever he is, watching over us, would be proud of what we have become, and, most of all, the strength this group gives each member in being an integral part of AuStrom.
