14.01.2022 Metropolitan Melbourne has entered the Second Step of its roadmap for easing coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. Individuals are able to go boating and fishing... (powered and unpowered) within 5km of your home and a two-hour time limit applies. Boat ramps and jetties are open. If you’re at a ramp or jetty, you must continue to adhere to physical distancing of at least 1.5m. For marine businesses, changes to restrictions mean that boating maintenance is now permitted with marine and specialist mechanics able to operate as required for safe operation of boats for scheduled and logbook services and inspections. This means that people are now able to take their boats and trailers to businesses that provide boating safety inspections, servicing and maintenance services. This will ensure people are able to have their boating safety inspections completed ahead of the upcoming summer season.
