We are, at this stage, classified as an essential service, so we will continue to operate while our customers, old and new, need their vehicle serviced or repaired. ... 20.01.2022 Dear Customers We would like to thank everyone for their loyalty in the past and would like to let you know that we are continuing to operate, albeit in a smaller capacity. We have introduced strict hygiene protocols into our workplace to protect our customers and staff, which we have been doing for a couple of weeks now. At this stage, we have split our team into two locations, Coorparoo and Capalaba, to avoid cross contamination of the virus if someone gets ill at either ...location. While we are allowed to operate and our customers need us we will available. We are able to pick up and drop off your vehicle if that helps with your Service or Repair needs. Just let us know when you are booking your car in and we will try and accommodate you. 13.01.2022 Our priority is to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and to prioritise the health and safety of our employees and our customers. We will continue to take a business as usual approach to this outbreak. We want to ensure our customers that we are adhering to strong hygiene practices by wiping down all door handles, steering wheels and gear sticks with hospital grade disinfectant bacterial wipes before and after driving our customers cars.

12.01.2022 Theos Tips Theo would like to touch base on the best way to keep your car happy during this time when you may be driving less or not at all. Theo recommends driving your car 20 km or more once a week to get the Engine & Drive Train components to operating temperature, this will dissipate any condensation saturation in the oils. This also, in turn, gives the battery a percentage of charge to avoid the chance of a flat battery. If you are unable to drive the car, starting the car and leaving it run for 1/2 hour in a ventilated garage will allow it to get to the same operating temperature as a short drive.

08.01.2022 ‘LIMP HOME MODE’ WARNING LIGHT ‘Limp Home Mode’ engine light warning comes on when there is a problem with one of the many computers that control the engine management and transmission. The limp mode is a safety feature to protect against any mechanical failure to the drive train. Limp Mode technically reduces the drivability to 2nd gear and reverse. Limp Mode is not the fault, it is only the protection mode that the car goes in to offset any further damage that may be cause ...by driving at normal speed. Any Mercedes Benz with the limp mode safety feature can enter limp mode for any one of many mechanical failures which may not be related to each other at all. If your Mercedes Benz enters ‘limp mode’, we suggest that you drive it directly to us at AustStar Motors for a scan test to diagnose the problem. Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable driving the car in limp mode, which will only be in second gear, we would recommend pulling over where safe and have the car towed to us.
