25.01.2022 There is nothing we want more than for people to be safe out on the water, so not only have we created the best system in the world, we just made it even more affordable. We just dropped the $5 membership to $1, so that when you sign up, or buy one as a Christmas present for a loved one, a General Membership will be just $1 + the $8 Tag fee instead of the usual $13. Use the Coupon Code $1NOV and the price will be automatically discounted, and you can rest assured that the Aus...tralian Watercraft Registry system will help you if your board, kayak, canoe, ski or other watercraft is found without you. Our system is so well crafted, the Water Police have been given access as the rescue authority in each state, and they will work with us to make sure you get home safe. 22.01.2022 Exciting news from our global partner that the Australian Watercraft Registry and International Watercraft Registry system are pushing ahead to make all paddlers, divers and owners of small sail craft safer out on the water. We have members across Australia, Europe, and now we will have members in America and Canada. While kayak fishing in the USA is always popular, we also see that there're a lot of people who white water kayaking and rafting, and we look forward to welcoming these people as members also. 21.01.2022 Good morning and Merry Christmas to Everyone, here's our weather forecast for the next couple of days. I hope Santa picked out a 80ft Game boat for you too. It's going to be a bit of a mixed bag over the next couple of days and if you scroll though to the Brisbane Wave Buoy data, I don't think you'll be going out the front of Moreton Island. We have some huge plans for 2021 which includes launching our rescue service Search and Rescue Queensland which will be inviting current... services to rebrand under our logo offering a true "Emergency service" rather than a mock service only open weekends including a new integrated radio network with call centre. 1 company, 1 phone number, No expensive tow jobs and GOAL ZERO for deaths on our waterways. Make sure you follow our page Search and Rescue Queensland for more information. Paddlers are encouraged to join our AustWR I.D. 18.01.2022 We hope that as we lead in to the Summer months, that you take the time to organise a Australian Watercraft Registry I.D. Tag for your paddle or small sail craft. We know that there was a large number of drifting kayaks this year and also a number of kayak related deaths, and with water sports becoming more popular, especially SUP's, it's time to increase the safety aspect of what you do. Memberships are $5, and the Tags are $8 and you get both in the General Membership for $...13 on our website. 17.01.2022 Welcome to the weekend weather report from the Australian Watercraft Registry. It's going to be a lumpy weekend out on the water, with up to 25 knots of breeze on Saturday and Sunday, and a possible thunderstorm on Sunday. Because there is rain forecast, we have given you the land forecasts as well which show percentage chance of rain and also the amounts expected. Now that we are heading in to the warmer months and people will be enjoying the water a lot more, please do a ...check of your equipment to make sure it's ready for use. Check your life jackets and replace non-serviceable equipment. Always tell someone where you are going, and the best people for this are your local volunteer Coast Guard, and always check the weather before you head out on the water. We offer I.D. Tags for paddle craft, and small sail craft for use throughout Australia and our sister company International Watercraft Registry service the rest of the planet. In Australia our system is available to the Water Police in your state to help insure your rescuers can start an informed search immediately. 16.01.2022 Great day out on the water looking after the paddlers and putting the new boat through its paces. Thanks to the crew from Paddle Queensland for a great event.

16.01.2022 Today is National Police Remembrance Day across Australia, and for me that's remembering my school classmate Danny Stiller. An excellent swimmer in regional competition, a fun loving guy and a passion for motorcycles. Danny's memory lives on looking after the community with the Queensland Police Vessel named in his honour, swift, honourable, caring and vibrant like how he lived his life.

15.01.2022 It won't happen to you, just everyone else? Some great work done today by the Coast Guard in Moreton Bay, finding and towing a small sailing catamaran back to the beach that had capsized. Unfortunately the catamaran had no identification on it, but that issue is easily fixed with a Australian Watercraft Registry membership that comes with an I.D. tag that attaches to you sail cat, kayak, canoe, SUP or other watercraft that doesn't have government registration. Having a Austr...alian Watercraft Registry membership means that your craft can be identified as yours, and the unique membership number links back to our secure database that both we, and the Water Police in your state have access to, and keeps 35 points of information on you that can be used to find you and save your life. If you, a family member, or a friend fits in to this category, make sure you go to our website and check it out, for the couple of bucks, it more than worth it. 15.01.2022 Do you have a boat that doesn't require government registration, but you'd still like it to be easily identified if an issue arrises? Perhaps it's a small sailboat with no, or less than 3 kW propulsion , or in some cases it maybe much bigger, but still meets the requirement for nil registration like a dumb barge. The Australian Watercraft Registry now offers identification for these vessels and your information will be saved securely in our database, and we can contact you as... soon as there is an issue reported by the Water Police, the public, or rescue agencies. Jump on to our website, www.AustWR.com.au/membership , selected a Limited Membership, and use the voucher code SAIL and you can register your details and your boat details completely free of charge. It's will be great peace of mind knowing that someone is looking out for you. Paddle craft require a General Membership. No insurance is included in registering your details, and we recommend maintaining sufficient husbandry to your vessel. #sailboat #sabot #hobiecat #trailersailer #free #wecare #AustWR See more

14.01.2022 Huge weekend planned. Saturday we are at Noosa to assist water safety in our marshalling boat with the outrigger crew. 12.01.2022 If you can throw $20 lures in a tree, you can afford a $5 Australian Watercraft Registry I.D. and Membership. Identification of small boats, sailing craft, and recreational paddle craft has become an issue that needed to be resolved. A few weeks back I sat in on a government run meeting where I was able to speak about the difficulties associated with lost kayakers, and that throwing assets (rescue helicopters and boats) at a Search and Rescue doesn't always help produce a saf...er outcome for those that are missing. Proper Prior Preparation and Planning Prevents Poor Performance. The Australian Watercraft Registry has been offering memberships to our program for more than 2 years now and allows the Water Police in each state to access your 35 points of your data in an EMERGENCY. Finding you on the first day of the search before the sun goes down is critical, and creating an informed search based on the data we keep on you is the best way of finding you alive short of having an EPIRB. Having our I.D. tag on your craft also stops expensive ($100,000 per day) searches when no one is missing, and your craft has just blown off your pontoon, fallen off your boat or drifted off a beach. 12.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to the AustWR weekend weather report. While today will be a bit wild and wooly, the forecast for Saturday and Sunday is pretty good. 10 - 15 knots at times with Sunday being a little better, but usually getting up early will pay dividends. A lot of fisherman will be disappointed with the amount of fresh in the water but it seems everyone is getting their crab pots out as the rain would have flushed a few out. In creeks and rivers, and even out in the ...bay, please be mindful of your speed as there is a heap of debris getting washed out with higher tides and runoff from the rain. That stick you see floating might have a tree attached. We still have plenty of stock for those people that would like a AustWR Tag for their paddle craft or to give one as a gift, we are also offering memberships to larger sail craft that don't need registration, but would like to be able to be identified and notified if there vessel is facing issues. Have a great Christmas, be safe, and remember if it's "from Santa" you can't get in trouble . 10.01.2022 Good morning, welcome to the weekend forecast from Australian Watercraft Registry. 20 - 25 knots today and all weekend across South East QLD waterways. Because it's forecast to rain today, I've added the land forecasts which show amounts of rain expected and the percentages of receiving it. N.B. One forecast says there is a 50% of getting 0-1mm ??? That's why I post the data. The Good News. Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show starts today, but be sure to follow the li...nks to register and stay COVID Safe, it will be a dramatically smaller show this year but I'm still looking forward to going, and being at Georges Seafood Paragon for lunch. If this is one of the first times you've caught our weather post, take note that we post the data (not forecasted) of the wave buoys off the coast that give you a live feed of whats actually happening offshore. At the end of the scroll of images, you'll see that Sydney Wave Data Buoys have recorded 9m waves in the last 24 hours. Thats why we do it, if thats rolling around out there, you don't want to head out. I hope you find a way to enjoy your weekend and stay safe out on the water, wear your life jacket, and if you have any questions feel free to comment below. 10.01.2022 If you're the kind of paddler that goes out for an afternoon fish, an early morning surf ski training run, or just to spend some time clearing your mind, it's important that you grab yourself a I.D. 08.01.2022 As a recreational target archer, I had responsibilities. I had to be responsible for my equipment and maintaining its safe working action, I had to be responsible for my actions around other people, I had a responsibility to myself to reframe from injury, and I had a responsibility to the sport, as careless actions can effect it's future. As owners of paddle craft, small sail craft and divers, you have similar responsibilities, and more often than not we are seeing people ...enter the water not prepared for the issues they can face, and the sports are going to change. People need to wear a life jacket of some kind when going in to the water, regular, inflatable or SUP Paddlers can wear the waist belt version, this is to protect you from drowning and the sport from further regulation. It's also important that you have a type of I.D. on your craft, because if it's found with out the owner present, it starts and expensive Search and Rescue mission that can be up to $100,000 per day. Don't let your actions screw it up for everyone else. 07.01.2022 It's the season for kayak associated issues. Be safer on the water, carry a VHF radio, wear a lifejacket, and get a Australian Watercraft Registry I.D Tag for $5.

07.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to the Queens Birthday long weekend weather report. Today is Wear Your Lifejacket to work day, but at the very least, check the straps for their durability, make sure your inflatable lifejacket has had a service in the last 12 months, and that if they are stored in a boat, the compartment is labeled LIFEJACKETS. This weekend looks great, 10-15 knots winds, mostly sunny, with a little more breeze forecast for Sunday afternoon. Because Mondays forecas...t hasn't been released yet, we will post an update on Sunday morning, so if you LIKE our page you'll be sure to receive it in your FB feed. Now that we are in to the warmer months, please consider getting an Australian Watercraft Registry I.D. Tag for your kayak, canoe, surf ski, SUP, small sail craft or other non-government registered watercraft (not jet skis). With people so often going missing while out on their craft, and the craft being found first, having I.D. on the craft that links ownership to you helps in the important first steps of the search. If it's an easy phone call to you at home, that saves $100,000 per day in search costs, but if you are missing, you have to be found before the sun goes down. Membership is $5, and if your details change you can log in and change them as often as you like. Australia www.Austwr.com.au International www.IntWCR.com Getting you Home, Safe. 07.01.2022 Welcome to the weekend weather report from Australian Watercraft Registry. The weather this weekend is all over the shop?? Today is not too bad, but Saturday the wind and waves pick up and very high chance of rain, and Sunday clears out a bit but there's still a forecast of a possible thunderstorm..... 06.01.2022 Welcome to the weather update for S/E QLD for the Queens Birthday long weekend from Australian Watercraft Registry. Simply, it's going to be more of the same. 10-15 knot winds, sea state between 1-2m depending on your location (use the images below) and mostly sunny. For the people celebrating Croctober, there are some excellent flathead being caught up in the high 80cm range in estuaries from Noosa to the Gold Coast on a mixture of offerings, bait and l...ures so take your pick and get out there. Congratulations to all the young sailors taking part in racing this weekend from Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, good luck and I hope your tactics pay off, but most of all that you have fun. Australian Watercraft Registry have put significant investment in to making sure people are safe on the water, particularly those with paddle craft and small sail craft, and our I.D. tag system also saves the government purse when a craft is found and it's simply a lost and found item. 05.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to the weekend weather report. There is no rain forecast for the weekend but in coastal areas the wind is expected to reach up to 20 knots in the mid to late afternoon on Saturday, with swell forecast to be between 2 - 4 metres depending on the time of the day. 2 metres is pretty standard, but 4 metres should keep small and medium vessels inshore. If you are heading out on the water, make sure you check your craft over first and carry all of the re...quired safety gear and wear your life jacket. As you can see we bought a vessel to help out with paddle events and we'll be out this Saturday on the Gold Coast, if you have a paddle event coming up, make sure you reach out and we can help with safety on the water. 04.01.2022 Happy New Year Everyone, welcome to the first weather report of 2021, I hope the hang overs are mild. The Australian Watercraft Registry had a fantastic 2020 with no loss of life within our membership and all craft accounted for. We also sponsored a few events which we are looking to do more of. The wind will be jumping up to about 25 knots on the Gold Coast today and there is expected to be some showers around, but the weekend looks good in South East Queensland. Given our... success over the years in safety of life, we have put in a bid to the members of the Coast Guard in Queensland and the Volunteer Marine Rescue in Queensland to operate as their management, creating a better future for the boating public and the volunteers. We'll know in March how they voted. Stay safe out on the water, if you're the skipper, stay off the booze, stay the safe distance if you are jet skiing and I hope the fish are biting. We are doing all we can to make sure you have a safe time out on the water, and I hope to see you out there on my next adventure. Happy New Year, Adam. 02.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to the weekend weather report. Today is looking fantastic, but will degrade heavily during the day and will be windy and rough this afternoon, leading you early in to a false sense of security, which will leave you in danger after lunch with 3.0m waves forecast for later today. Because there is a possible storm for Saturday morning, we have posted the land forecasts as well, which show no sign of rain ???. Sunday again looks like the best day with ...moderate conditions forecast. I'd just like to highlight that the water in Moreton Bay has changed significantly as it use to be a "cold patch" but now from the thermal image you can see it's holding warmer water. There have been a lot of sharks sighted in Moreton Bay and in close on the Southern Gold Coast, so don't swim in dirty/ silty water and if you are fishing watch out for the taxman. Queensland Police Vessel Casey Blain was out in Moreton Bay last night with assistance from aircrews so it's another reminder to Log On with your local coastal VMR or Coast Guard, it's a free service and is an important step in making sure you return safely. Log Off when you return. If you have a paddle craft like a kayak, canoe, ski or SUP, a small sail craft like a sabot, Hobie cat, wind surfer or kite surfer, or you're a diver, we would like you to have an Australian Watercraft Registry I.D. on your craft or gear. Our system is available to the QLD Water Police (and water Police in every state) and will immediately identify your craft to you, so if your gear is found you can be immediately contacted to pick it up, or an informed search can be mounted for you. It's important you get found before the sun goes down on the first day of the search, and that has a much better chance if we know who you are, your address, skill levels, personal contact details and details about your craft. Our system is the best of it's kind in the world and also is operated in Europe and the USA by the International Watercraft Registry. Membership is just a couple of bucks. Winds forecast for today and Saturday the 12th are forecast to be up to 30 knots, winds for Sunday are forecast to be up to 50 kno...ts (90kmh*), so it's advised for people with vessels on swing moorings that they should check their vessel and mooring today or early Saturday morning. Jet Skiers. As people with a recreational craft, recreational licence and basic recreational insurance, you should consider that this was never issued for you to do rescue work which includes going in to open water with huge seas. Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland) has set guidelines around tow in surfing and you can click the link to see it in full. Please take note of the 200m rule/speed limit within people in the water. This makes approaching people in breaking surf near impossible. In the event that you may need to be rescued yourself, a helicopter may be sent to you, which won't get your ski, which may be collected days later, or be a complete loss. https://www.msq.qld.gov.au//tow_in_surfing_code_conduct.pd As we are expecting rain this weekend, we have also posted the land forecasts which show amounts and percentages. I hope everyone has a nice safe weekend, if you're going to Christmas parties, have a plan to get home safely and enjoy everything in moderation. 01.01.2022 Welcome to the weekend weather forecast from Australian Watercraft Registry. It's a shame Bathurst wasn't this weekend, we are going to see wind speeds up to 20 knots today and over the weekend with the Sunshine Coast expected to see up to 25 knots tomorrow after the change comes through. I was out yesterday fishing in my kayak and conditions were fantastic but when the breeze picked up it was a challenge to paddle back up the river system, so be careful out there. Wear yo...ur life jacket, keep your phone dry and make sure you Log On with your local Coast Guard before heading out. There are still plenty of great fishing being caught, I was fishing 6-8 lb yesterday and it's heaps of fun convincing the fish to come back to the kayak, but if your in a boat heading offshore make sure you check in before and after crossing coastal bars, as thats the most dangerous part of your journey. Remember you're the Skipper, you're responsible, make sure you plan your journey, check your fuel, charge your batteries, have water on board for all of the people with you, and keep up with your servicing. It's been a busy few months out on the water and that will keep going all through Summer, and if you have a paddle craft (kayak, SUP, ski or other) please consider getting an Australian Watercraft Registry I.D. Tag for $5. www.AustWR.com.au See more
