18.01.2022 Steve Waugh Foundation 2 hrs Day 1 of The Captains Ride they gathering on the start line a combination of nerves and excitement felt by everyone. Foundation Ambassador Renee Eliades cut the ribbon to send the Team on their way - 3 Pelotons; 69 Riders including 23 first time Riders & 4 Grant Recipient Dads; 31 On Road and Support Team; 6 man Film & Photography Crew, 1 Linfox Truck & 14 Toyota cars it takes a village! High temperatures of 35 degrees, 1514 metres of climbing, 134 kilometres of riding from Toowoomba to Bunya Mountains. Steve described this day "as the hardest day in five Rides", mainly due to the high temperatures. Everyone showed true courage and character to make it through the first day.
