24.01.2022 Changes to the Job Ready Program (JRP) Applications From 11 June 2020, TRA is implementing changes to the way applications are made and documents are submitted for all steps of the JRP. Step 1: Provisional Skills Assessment Step 2: Job Ready Employment Step 3: Job Ready Workplace Assessment... Step 4: Job Ready Final Assessment Applications for each step of the JRP will be completed online through the TRA online portal from the TRA website. All documentation will be uploaded online when submitting an application and must PDF. Applicants will no longer need to print, scan and email application forms to TRA. All mandatory fields need to be completed to be able to lodge your application so preparation is crucial. You will also be required to submit all necessary documentation at the time of lodging the application. 23.01.2022 Opportunities for Small Business Owners in Queensland!! PR pathway through 491- SBO This stream is for migrants who are currently living and operating a small business in a regional area. Applicants must have an occupation that is on Home Affairs Instrument LIN 19/051, and a have a positive skills assessment in their nominated occupation. Applicants under this stream must have full-time work rights and not be currently studying.... Queensland allow new graduates to acquire business from AUD 100,000 and settle down there. The business must not be a new start up but an already established one, located in regional OLD and run for 6 months before submitting EOI. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: You must meet both the Australian Department of Home Affairs and BSMQ criteria The HA criteria requires you to: -have a points test result of 65 or higher, inclusive of state nomination points -have a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation be under 45 years of age -meet the minimum English language requirement of COMPETENT, unless a higher level is required by your assessing authority -submit additional documents if invited to lodge an application for a subclass 491 visa. 17.01.2022 EMPLOYER SPONSORED TSS VISAS (482 AND 457) DURING (COVID-19) Questions answered for Temporary Skill Shortage visa holder who have been stood down or whose working hours have been reduced: The Australian Government has announced that Temporary Skill Shortage visa holders who have been stood down, but not laid off, will not be in breach of their visa conditions.... Employers will have the flexibility to reduce the hours of the visa holder without breaching visa conditions of the employee or employer obligations. Employers should make sure: the hourly rate of the nominated salary does not decrease the role and duties of the sponsored employee remain the same the nomination is not under a Labour Agreement which has full-time arrangements only this arrangement should be agreed upon by both the sponsor and sponsored employee and sponsors should maintain written evidence to demonstrate this agreement and document the reason for the change. However, sponsored employees whose role has been terminated must find another employer within 60 days, or apply for another visa, if not they will need to make arrangements to depart Australia. 13.01.2022 Occupation Ceiling announced for 2020-2021 financial year Key Figures: -Accountants and Auditors reduced to just 1000 and 1619 respectively ... -IT occupations have been given over 16,000 ceiling value -Registered Nurses are the highest with over 17,859 -Engineers sit above 11,000 -Electricians are at 8,021, Carpenters and Joiners at 6812, Motor Mechanics at 5205, Chefs at 2,256 and Painters at 3,303 Once this limit is reached, no further invitations for that particular occupation group will be issued for that program year. Invitations will then be allocated to intending migrants in other occupation groups even if they are lower ranking. Occupation ceiling values are based on a percentage of stock employment figures for each occupation. Employment figures are provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and represent the number of people employed in Australia in each occupation. 11.01.2022 New South Wales Update on 190 and 491 Visas As we are all aware, State Nomination is competitive process, and we are able to provide an update to keep you informed: -At this stage, the 132/188 visa programme remains closed, NSW is hopeful that both subclasses will re-open on 1 July 2020 however there is no guarantee in relation to the exact date or the number of places available as the final number of places allocated for next financial year will be determined by Home Affairs.... In most cases the numbers asked by NSW align with the numbers allocated by DHA which is good news, for this year however the programme allocation is exhausted -It is unlikely that there will be any major changes to 132/188 visa programmes, agents and applicants are encouraged to check the NSW website for further details -https://global.nsw.gov.au/ is the new initiative launched by NSW government. For all the latest updates, agents and applicants are encouraged to visit this website - At present there are approximately 60,000 EOI lodged in the system for NSW. NSW will continue to be very selective in terms of who is invited to apply. Onshore applicants will be given priority. Whilst the standard processing time is 12 weeks for NSW nomination, assuming all of the documents are in place, the nominations can be finalised much sooner -Unfortunately there is no way to expedite an application on compelling or compassionate reasons (e.g. applicants current visa is due to expire), applicants will need to make arrangements to apply for another visa if applicable -NSW is hoping to open up the 491 visa shortly. 02.01.2022 NSW to open for the 491 visa NSW Treasury will begin accepting for NSW nomination for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) on Monday 15 June 2020. NSW Treasury will stop accepting applications at 5pm Tuesday 23 June 2020.... Applications will be assessed by the end of the financial year; Tuesday 30 June 2020. Who can apply? Only candidates who meet all the requirements below will be able to submit an application. If you do not meet these requirements, we strongly urge you not to apply as your application will be declined. The NSW nomination fee is not refundable. Requirements You can only apply for NSW nomination if you meet Department of Home Affairs requirements for this visa and: have an occupation on the NSW Stream 1 Regional Skilled Occupation List (see below), and; have been living in a designated regional area in NSW for at least the last 12 months, and; have been working in a designated regional area in NSW for at least the last 12 months, and; have been working in your nominated occupation, or a closely related occupation, for at least the last 12 months.
