21.01.2022 Australian pop icon Ian 'Molly' Meldrum found the original name of his house was Luxor. Quite a coincidence considering his pet hobby is collecting Egyptian artifacts and Luxor is an Egyptian city.

20.01.2022 Thanks goes to 3AW for our little chat earlier. The phone has been busy since, as yes, both Peter Hitchener and Denis Walter both remembered me, hopefully for the right reasons.

12.01.2022 After 26 years I will cease making nameplates at the end of May. 'Twas a great journey indeed to be able to make something nice for people and knowing that my plates will still adorn homes in many years to come. At this stage there is no one to carry on the tradition, so again, it will be lost in time. A huge thanks to all my wonderful customers who were the sole purpose of me making my nameplates.
12.01.2022 The story behind the house name SHANGRI-LA: It was taken from the 1933 story 'Lost Horizon' by English novelist, James Hilton, where the setting is Shangri-La, a Tibetan valley of ideal perfection. the U.S. presidential retreat in rural Marylands, known as 'Camp David' was originally named Shangri-La by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942. It was renamed in 1953

09.01.2022 After 26 years, Authentic Nameplates will close its door. As the business has not sold, it looks like this art form will again die. C'est la vie.
08.01.2022 In 2005 I made a series of nameplates for an Aussie film, Eucalyptus, starring Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman. After my account was settled, the movie was canned amidst rumours of script problems and on set fall-outs.
06.01.2022 I get a few requests to give my signs an aged look and it seems that this finish might fit the bill. What do you think?
06.01.2022 I'm as busy as an elf at Christmas, but I did get time to make a sign for Deb and Graham who were thrilled with their nameplate. Thanks guys.
06.01.2022 There were no bells, no streamers, no champagne corks popping as I was just too busy producing sign number 5000. At least I reached this milestone before retirement.
05.01.2022 Look what chef, Guy Grossi has next to his front door.
04.01.2022 In 1888, Alexander McCracken built a house at the highest point of Essendon known as North Park. He joked about the fact that if he stood on the roof of his house, he could see his brother's house, Earlsbrae Hall, in Moonee Ponds. Both buildings still stand today.
